I would agree with you, but we’re talking Ted Cruz. Republicans do outnumber Democrats 3 to 2 in the state. Anyone but Cruz would win. I think Beto has a 50/50 chance despite Democrats being so heavily outnumbered.
I hear most of his support is coming from Cuba, Canada and Russia. All foreign dark money.
If you haven’t given yet, give now.
The campaigns are reportedly negotiating details, but I don’t know if it’s a sincere attempt or a stall by one team or the other.
I think the debate would be loosely analogous to Bush-Gore. One candidate would be certain he got all the answers right, and the other would come off as more likable, an actual normal human being. It’s not a direct comparison, since Cruz is more obsequiously condescending than Gore, and Beto has more substance than Bush. I hope we get to see it.
Excellent!! Short, sweet and to the point.
Send Trump! He will de-mobilise the English language and send it into prattle! (H/T Edward R. Murrow.)
No argument with this but… if the donors give just 10% of the bonus they got by the tax cuts I don’t see them stopping. As long as the people who vote think that tax cuts for the rich help, they will get the government they are voting for
May I point out that this guy is a political slouch disliked by his constituents and an anchor to his immorral GOP breathern .So sure , let’s pump untold millions to elect a sniveling do nothing to have a warm GOP body in a Senate that perpetuates a perversion of our political system. Please vote in November like America’s future depends upon it…
Considering how unpopular Cruz is in the Senate I bet there are republican senators contributing to Beto.
Elfego Baca sends his regards.
BETO RAP
Well let me tell you 'bout Beto,
His last name is O’rourke,
he was born in Texas, down in El Paso
He wasn’t dropped off by some Canadian stork
Let me tell you ‘bout Beto
The candidate with a plan
He’s makin’ waves and takin’ names,
And he’s runnin’ against The Man
Well I’ll tell you ‘bout Beto
well you know he just can’t lose
Especially cuz’ he’s runnin’ against
the likes of Teddy Cruz
Well Ted’s a goofy-sorta-fellow,
but Republicans love him still,
he’s mean and stale and his loyalty
has always been for sale.
Let me tell you 'bout Beto,
He’s young and smart and cool,
And every time he gives a speech
it makes Teddy look like a tool.
I can tell you ‘bout Beto
He a real live rock and roll star,
While Teddy looks like some old square,
Hangin’ out at the country club bar.
So we’re gonna vote for Beto
At election time this fall
Cuz he wants to build a better future
and not some stupid wall
Let me tell you 'bout Beto,
Its time to give Cruz the dump,
now that Teddy has sold all out, he’s a
rubber-stamp for Donald Trump,
Yeah we’re gonna vote for Beto,
in a big blue Democratic flood.
Texas and this whole great nation,
Really need new blood,
Yeah we’re gonna vote for Beto,
His last name is O’rourke,
he was born in Texas, down in El Paso
He wasn’t dropped off by some Canadian stork
Yeah we’re gonna vote for Beto.
Have you seen this? It speaks to what the Republicans have been lying about for years to keep power.
The question is, will enough people buy what they’re selling?
Example, lots of money has been invested into bad products. Doesn’t mean new investment stops, or that people completely stop buying.
At this point, the GOP is a very bad product with a disproportionate amount of marketing. When does a critical mass build that’s convinced of the better product? Will that understanding come soon enough, while the better product is still available? Or does the terrible product crowd out the better product with an authoritarian government?
The Politico article is fancy talk for bringing in the sleaze merchants to attack O’Rourke. They sent someone out to El Paso to go over Beto’s DUI police report from 10-15 years ago, and found a witness who said Beto tried to leave the scene of the accident. Apparently he failed to leave because the report also has a breathalyzer test report. Anyway, everyone but Ted Cruz, John Cornyn and Karl Rove had known about this event for at least a year, so ho-hum. I expect Rove, Corsi, O;Neil, and Bossi will be names we will be hearing about over the next two months. I also expect Paul Burka of the Texas Monthly to do one of his Circe de Soleil rhetorical tricks by damning O’Rourke in an article that appears to praise him. Or something clever. Example here. https://www.texasmonthly.com/burka-blog/four-texas-democrats-vote-against-house-bill-offering-tax-breaks-to-harvey-victims/
I hope I live in Texas long enough to see those who don’t vote–predominately young Hispanic-Americans but others as well–vote to the point where they roll this state over. When that day comes, “Nunc dimittis . . …”
Why is it that every photo of Cruz’s face looks like he’s sitting on the toilet having painful elimination?
If we do get a bunch of D wins and take back over I hope we don’t get a bunch of in fighting and get nothing done.
EXCELLENT advice
Please tell me someone will be running millions of ads of Trump calling Cruz “Lyin’ Ted,” and Cruz calling Trump a pathological liar without morals, etc., etc., from the 2016 campaign. That stuff should tamp down R enthusiasm pretty nicely, right?
or NOT contributing to Cruz, that may be the issue Cornhaul’s troubled with.
