Discussion: Republicans React To Donald Trump's Policy To Keep Muslims Out Of The Country

Straight up laughing at that.

Nice one.

What if the Trump Campaign is all just a terrible joke that has taken in a life of its own? Maybe Trump is desperately seeking to destroy his own campaign by saying crazy stuff, but the crazier he gets the more conservatives love him.

Hillary, Bernie, Martin, the DNC, and other Democratic officials and candidates should be quickly out in front of Drump and the other Republican candidates on these remarks. The time for sitting back and savoring those drinks is after Democrats have won all possible elections in November 2016! Premature cockiness and defensive messaging will not accomplish electorally what the American 99%ers need.

Now what are you going to do about this nut job, RNC?! Too bad Tony Soprano is no longer around!

Trump has been allowed to wander off of the reservation for so long now … That one of the RNC’s worst unspoken fears is beginning to ripen — I spoke with a group of people today who are most certainly in the independent/democrat camp and consider themselves to be of the non-voting and indifferent variety —

BUT … This group has become motivated — Not in supporting one candidate over another or towards certain policy stands or party — They are motivated out of their own fear of the CRAZY ! ! —

The Donald has not just energized the GOP base — He has gone so far as to actually get some off their asses to STOP him — I really think the Dem and non-voter turnout is going to be pleasantly surprising —

The RNC and GOP moderates are worried ---- This is going to BLOW UP in their faces —

                        ( no pun intended )

Unfortunately indeed.

It sucks to be Carly.

Lately given the mostly Republican induced paranoia I find myself reminded of The Russians are coming…

Second that. The instant you think Graham’s said something halfway reasonable, he’ll say a new thing so flagrantly vile and panderey that you’ll regret your generous impulse of a moment before. Just spare yourself the psychic wear and tear and loathe him consistently.

Carson weighed in with some rather weak sauce about disagreeing but still wanting every Muslim registered. He isn’t a real player anymore, and is once again surrendering on the subject as he always does when he receives or perceives push back.

I think Cruz dismissed it without offending Trump, something about it not being the policy he proposes.

The bigger problem for all of them, is they will debate this as if its a debatable position to have. Its not. And that becomes extremely problematic once they move out of the primaries. Merely giving credence to this sort of rhetoric will destroy any candidate in a general, even if they generally “disagree”. It may play to the extreme right wing base, but it’s a complete loser with independents, blue dogs, and “moderate” republicans. Which means instead of staring the race 40 GOP/40 Dem with 20% undecided, they start with 20 GOP/60 Dem and 20% undecided…but with one foot inside the Dem tent.

My guess is, is that the GOP establishment is done for this cycle. They are going to take their money and retreat to the hills and let the fire burn hopefully burn itself out, and then come back and see what, if anything, is worth salvaging. That is why so much of the big money is still sitting on the sidelines. This rhetoric will continue to increase throughout the primary, making even the Congressional and Senate races a toxic swamp for establishment pols.

But that movie was funny…

I think it’s scary how many people are writing Trump off. If Trump is nominated by the Republicans, a single terrorist incident before the elections could swing the elections in his favor.

Fear not, folks. I have been confidently informed by well-informed persons that It Can’t Happen Here.

So when do we get to the part where only white Christian Aryans should be allowed to have babies? (preferably of Northern European stock, but he won’t discriminate against “papist” er… Catholics, but Orthos are kind of weird and should be watched, and Jews are OK now so he’s more like a modern fascist)

Well, I heard on Faux Newz that Jesus is white, so it should be no problem.

ISIS and Trump deserve each other.

Do we have Reince Priebus’ reaction yet, or is he back on suicide watch?

“In this species, the female is, by far, the most dangerous”

Yep, as Trump: “You are fired!”

I think you have missed a point or two…

The GOP helped create this monster we see in Trump. They need to help bring him down now. Where is the GOP elected leadership on this? The Speaker of the House? The Senate majority leader? The head of the RNC? Their silence is deafening. The others running for President need to step up and say, no, if Trump is the Republican nominee I will NOT support him. Just the other day, when Jeb Bush was asked this question, he said “anyone would be better than Clinton” and he would support Trump. Coward.
