Discussion for article #242484
They’re gonna be sorry! (And real soon.)
The very smart people of Kentucky just shot themselves in the foot.
Two words: stunned, devastated.
Voting against their own self-interests, So those polls were wrong saying the dem was ahead or close?
Yep, all the polling, what little there was, way overestimated Democrats. It was a bloodletting. But guess who was safe? The person so many Democrats thought lost her last race because she wouldn’t admit she voted for Obama.
Will be curious to see what turnout was like for this election. Also, related in a way: I miss Howard Dean as head of the DNC.
Who is that Plucky?
It just makes me enraged. (1) Clearly, Democrats sat home and didn’t vote, yet again; (2) those people LOVE Kynect, AND voted for THAT nutjob, and those two should never, ever co-exist in anyone’s mind with a modicum of human intellect; and (3) ugh, those meaningless votes for the “independent” candidate.
I expected a narrow win. This is terrible. Devastating.
Ominous and disturbing to say the very least.
Is Plucky referring to Allison Lundergan Grimes ?
Perhaps, but safe from what? Does she hold office?
Secretary of State - seems she got reelected.
Conway ran as the anti-democrat democrat. Running against Obama on issues. You aren’t going to inspire real democrats to come out to vote if the choice is republican or republican lite.
Ugh! Horror story. Bevin will be worse then Fletcher was.
I hate being dragged down be the rural, racists, hyper religious, dumb fucks!
I forgot that she still held that office. However, I understand from the Kentucky Dept of Health and Services director that Bevin managed to call Kynect Obamacare and apparently the people of Kentucky don’t care to put those two together Thanks Obama, They hate you after all you did. Ungrateful assholes
I think all that Kim Davis shit helped Bevin.
Hmm…I don’t think safe is the proper word. She won, but just barely from what I am seeing. (51-48…or about 30,000 votes). And consider she dumped over $600,000 into the race and her opponent spent just a tad over $30,000.
It was probably way too close for her to consider a run at Paul, sadly.
Is this true? If so, that’s a very important bit of info. I know a KY Dem can’t run as Obama’s BFF, but has anyone (Conway, Lundergan Grimes, etc.) tried to run as a true progressive populist?
It really wasn’t even that close. Bevin would have beaten him even if Conway had gotten all of Curtis’ votes.
There is a slight ray of hope down in Louisiana, however. I have seen three or four polls in recent weeks that all have Edwards leading Vitter by double digits, including Vitter’s own internal polling. Still a few weeks out, but I think even the people of Louisiana have had enough of Vitter.
