Once in a publishing division chat I mentioned I was never too hot with math and science. Everyone, to a person, chimed in that neither were they. Not dumb people. Just weaker on that side of our brains. : ( I took a general biology course and remember a day when I understood how energy gets stored and transferred via covalent bonds with ADT at the molecular level and all that fun stuff. I understood it, could see it, for this transcendent 27 seconds or so and the poof, it was gone again.

Have you ever noticed that “reporters” on local TV news ALWAYS seem proud of the fact that they’re math (dare I say arithmetic) illiterate?

I took an informal survey of a number of my fellow law students and came to the conclusion that about 65% or so of us were there because there was no math involved at all.
