Discussion for article #238506
So when do we get to hear about Abdulazeez’ broken-home-abusive-father-bullied-childhood?
Oh. Silly me. He has a foreign-sounding name!

…and the war mongers’ drums beats will reach sfz by FoxNews prime time. There will be an hysterical stampede to say it firstest and the loudest…
Well, according to Wild West Wayne, it was the Good Guy With a Gun who stopped him by blowing his brains out.
Unclear how the shooter died? I would suspect lead was involved somehow…
Edit:
Now that he has been identified and named as Muhammad Youssef Abdulazzeez, the Muslim hater “I told you they are all bad people” brigade will show up in 3…2…1…
But headlines can mislead. The main terrorist threat in the United States is not from violent Muslim extremists, but from right-wing extremists. Just ask the police.
Looks like someone need to reassess that statement…
Wrong again. Post-9/11, Christian terrorists have killed more people in the U.S. than Muslim terrorists.
And you obviously didn’t read the rest of the NY Times article. The body count is almost 5-to-1. RWNJ’s are much more dangerous than jihadist wannabes.
You mean like the folks that lost their lives in the OKC bombing?
Don’t worry, Puppies. The Muslim extremists are trying to catch up to the Christian extremists.
That happened in 1995, the article is referring to current terror threats.
It says he may be from Kuait. If we must have a war, at least can we attack the right country this time?
It’s the kind of stupid playground question that idiots like you debate. The victims are just as dead either way and we have to do our utmost to stop BOTH. Or do you think otherwise? Do you think at all? In both cases the idiots were able to buy guns, I will note. How’s about we amend the 2nd amendment with an asterisk: Note-the above DOES NOT APPLY TO IDIOTS
At least it wasn’t an illegal Mexican!
Which makes you even more wrong.
Exactly, apologists for both Muslim nut jobs and Alex Jones followers are morons. They are indeed BOTH a threat. FBI Director Comey has been very clear on that, but far lefties and almost all righties seem to think that one or the other are being singled out. Not true, both are being very carefully watched, as they should be.
Fine with me, people like you should NEVER get a gun.
On a more serious note, the NYT article clearly attempts to minimize Islamic terrorism here at home, which is obviously occurring at an alarming pace, while at the same time pointing the finger at a group of people that have not caused too much trouble in the past decade at least.
According to news reports, the shooter was born in Kuwait, in 1990.
Guess this is the thanks we get for bailing them out when Saddam invaded them.
It’s always lose-lose when we enter the Middle East. Will we ever figure that out and just start minding our own GD business?
Oooh, does this mean that Lindsey Graham will call for the bombing of Kuwait now?
Hear, hear!!!
You just can surrender the stupid, can you?
From the article you cited but obviously did not read:
Despite public anxiety about extremists inspired by Al Qaeda and the Islamic State, the number of violent plots by such individuals has remained very low. Since 9/11, an average of nine American Muslims per year have been involved in an average of six terrorism-related plots against targets in the United States. Most were disrupted, but the 20 plots that were carried out accounted for 50 fatalities over the past 13 and a half years.
In contrast, right-wing extremists averaged 337 attacks per year in the decade after 9/11, causing a total of 254 fatalities, according to a study by Arie Perliger, a professor at the United States Military Academy’s Combating Terrorism Center. The toll has increased since the study was released in 2012.
I know it is really challenging math, but an average of 6 per year is truly less than an average of 337 per year (by a lot) and 50 fatalities over 13 years is less than 254 fatalities in 10 years (by a lot). It’s true and it’s okay to accept it. Did that clear it up for you?
