Discussion: Reports: Militia Members Head To The Border As Trump Inflates 'Caravan' Threat

I can see one way this might turn out. Hmm…

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

How am I supposed to differentiate the Texas Minutemen from the KKK? Do they wear off-white hoods?

Here’s hoping they all miss their voting opportunity.

Wouldn’t it be great if in their fervour they forget to vote and Cruz loses his election by 100 votes?

They are heavily armed and not real bright. This could be a disaster.

Might we see some arrests of civilians impersonating military personnel? These militia types are overly fond of wide-stance posturing with AK-47s while dressed up in camo drag. I’m sure they can be spotted a mile away.

Reported incidents of unregulated militias stealing National Guard equipment during deployments.

What are they stealing? This could get interesting.

They are busy campaigning for Ryan Bundy who is running for governor in Nevada.

I’m hoping the military has to shoot at least a few them. Yah yah yah. Terrible. But it’s still what’s in my head.

Bad thing is it would only happen if they’re shooting and I don’t want that.

So what can happen? The military can’t make arrests and/or function as civilian law enforcement because of posse commitatus.

I am just thinking, we are putting more military personnel in the field. And then along come these amateurs. The militia are one bottle of JD away from discovering who the professionals are.

I am not wishing violence at all. But I can easily see things happening quickly in an incident. Every time I see the various militia members, it looks like a has been club of people who never got over playing army when they were kids. Some of those guys can’t get around their own bellies enough to maintain discipline and control in a situation. I think I am stealing someone else’s comment, but they are like the seedy side of Cosplay.

No I know you’re not wishing violence, and I’m not (really) either. I also agree that their presence does make for a volatile situation that could light up at any moment.

I mentioned previously that I think (hope) that may be why Mattis is agreeing to send the military in, to secure the peace.

All the same, it’s going to be the caravan people who get shunted into vans. While the disgusting militia types strut around like they’re all cock of the walk.

I’m not going to tune in and watch them.

How many different felonies is it to steal equipment from the national guard during deployment?

Stealing the enemy’s equipment is, uh, the kind of thing that a wartime opponent might do.

I was thinking along the same lines. I heard their main objective is to fill their trailers with stuff they’ll steal from the National Guard.

I’d go too … if I had a taco truck.
