It remains to be seen if Republicans either themselves or through an outside lawyer have the nerve to grill Ford about the attack on her and the lifetime of trauma it unleashed. Free advice: Cut their losses, get Kavanaugh to withdraw and promise a better nominee with no baggage later this year or next.

As difficult as the process is for impeachment and conviction of a SCOTUS justice, there is a viable road for that after the Dems take over and initiate a thorough and impartial investigation. Meanwhile having to face down their misogynistic tendencies with a Presidential election in the offing.
Seems to me Republicans would be better off having Kavanaugh withdraw and nominate another right wing nut job without all the baggage in his place.
Mitch, the master of understatement. Now we’re learning Ford once considered moving to New Zealand to put as much space between herself and Kav. She also knew or sensed beginning the day PuPPet was elected memories of Kav would come back to haunt her as she believed he’d be the likely SCOTUS nom.
@pshah Impeachment is within the realm of possibility, conviction is another story. And when it’s being raised before he’s been confirmed, that means the talk will only get louder.

They don’t have the nerve. Just like their man in the WH, all bluster, threats, and nastiness and faced with a real confrontation - have someone else do it. It’s so despicable, cowardly, and predictable, it’s almost funny. Almost.

The other thing that gets me here is Kavanaugh’s own “concern” for his wife and daughters and his “championing of women.” Does he care that his daughters will be reminded of this for who knows how long? The Democrats have said they will continue this investigation if/when the win the House. So it will go on. Blind, utter ambition and complete selfishness - a federal judgeship isn’t enough: the Supreme Court at any cost.
