Seems the likely scenario, though the conspiracy nuts will be out on this one. He also might have went on a binge (alcohol or pills). I seriously doubt he was "rubbed out, He likely was feeling guilty about all the statements he made, etc., they may have been his idea. Took a sick day Friday, that might be when he did it.

Like the song says, suicide sometimes seems to be contagious.
But in this case it seems like this guy had more reasons to direct his anger/sadness outward as opposed to himself.

Maybe. But what if Scheweich was against the idea of the statements, and Jackson kept pushing it? That’s possible. And since it is being investigated as a suicide, there might be a note, etc. It looks like they want to ID the body officially first, and then they might release more info.

That’s why it seems so dumb for him to accuse the other candidate of starting such a whisper campaign. Even if he was, who cares. I’m wondering if the “pre-emptive strike” was this guys idea and Schweich was against it, and now this guy was feeling guilty. Speculation, but we’ll find out soon enough, especially if there was a note.

This certainly lends itself to conspiracies. My first guess would be that Schweich was being blackmailed for something worse than “being Jewish” and Spence was also implicated in the scandal. On the other hand, suicide IS contagious. It is devastating to survivors and, if those left behind are prone to suicidal thoughts anyway, the suicide of a loved one greatly increases the chance that they will act on them.
