Discussion: Reports: 2016 Trump Campaign Files Arbitration Against Omarosa For Disparagement

Beg your pardon?

Yes. And I suppose Trump would have made that move earlier. But, were he to file thereā€™s always a chance a judge could halt sales pending some sort of ruling. Just becuase itā€™s on your shelves doesnā€™t mean youā€™re free to ignore a judicial ruling halting sales. Wouldnā€™t stop all from getting out, but would sure as hell curtail exposure.

Why? Iā€™m sorry I donā€™t understand.

I would suspect thatā€™s right.

Based on the actions of the defense, he is clearly counting on having his sentence commutedā€¦

Or heā€™s going to flip for Mueller

Well you can see it that way if you like, but mainly it just means that there isnā€™t a defense to present. And juries donā€™t like defendants who donā€™t testify.

We all know that he has no defense and that he is guiltyā€¦

But that is not really the issueā€¦

Manafort looks to be SOL, and this is more bad news for Trump:

-Only 34 percent of Americans approve of Trumpā€™s handling of the Russia investigation, vs. 55 percent who disapprove.
-58 percent say this is a serious matter that should be investigated, vs. only 37 percent who think itā€™s
an effort to discredit Trump.
-56 percent say Trump has interfered with the investigation, vs. only 38 percent who say he has not.
-Only 37 percent say the things Trump has said publicly about the investigation are true, vs. 56 percent who say they are false.
-70 percent say Trump should testify to Mueller, vs. only 25 percent who say he should not.
-57 percent say Trump knew about contacts between his campaign operatives and Russians, vs. only 36 percent who say he did not.

No matter what happens, he goes back to jail to await his D.C trial.

Closing argument:
If the ostrich jacket doesnā€™t fit, you must acquit.

Is that the case? If so, that is good newsā€¦

Hopefully in tamper-free cellā€¦

This is reportedly over the 2016 campaign NDA she signed, not the 2020 campaign NDA she refused to sign. (edit: sorry, I see others have already answered this)

Does the NDA say that drump can publicly attack the person non stop with anything he wants but they are still not allowed to say anything negative about him?

Whatever.

From my standpoint it was the issue when i read that no witnesses were called.

Iā€™m not a lawyer, but curious as to how Team Trump can try to apply a campaign NDA to anything Omarosaā€™s written, said, or released that concerns her time at the White House. Even if thereā€™s language in the original NDA stipulating that itā€™s in effect for time immemorial (and Iā€™m sure there is), how can that legally be extended to the White House, where NDAs are almost certainly not legally enforceable?

In what way do any efforts to gag Omarosa not lend credibility to the dirt sheā€™s peddling?

I donā€™t think it can be enforced but it remains to be seen I guess. I tend to agree with you.

The RNC has no interest in exposing anything Trump related to sunlight. For some reason, theyā€™re still backing this trainwreck to cross the line first.
