Now they donât have to worry about retaining any kind of âaccessâ they can go wild.
Smart move Donnikins.
This will give CNN a lot more time to air alternative âalternative factsâ aka true, verifiable, reality-based information.
Methinks this will be an ever shrinking sphere of influence until they are left screaming into the Fox/Breitbart Eco Chamber which is the only place his supporters get their ânewsâ anyway.
This instantly improves CNN as a news sourceâŚ
sweet. will probably watch a lot more CNN now. good to have a way to escape giving any of the gestapo any ratings.
Ratings will increase at CNN.
Please. CNN is littered with Trump spokespeople, and has been since he declared. Jeffery Lord will ensure that Trumpâs message is heard on CNN, and pick up a nice bundle of cash for doing to, to boot. And over at MSNBC , Mika and Joe are like pet schnauzers for himâŚjust waiting to be told how high to jump.
Bannon and Trump understand how deeply ingrained the âaccess journalismâ is into the MSM networks, and they are betting that no amount of crap will stop them from rolling over to get access. This sort of talk is about establishing dominance, and nothing else.
And my money is on the White House winning, and CNN rolling over with their tone fairly soon.
Apropos Journalism, Hunter S. Thompsonâs funeral
I notice that news sources are more and more calling the Muslim ban a âtravel ban.â CNN should not be party to these lies and misinformation.
Brilliant opportunity for Dems. Time to send some heavy hitters to CNN.
Oh, right.
Anyway, the message from the White House itself deserves attention.
Aides should be available to answer questions truthfully, not promote agendas (i.e. lie).
CNN should respond with something snarky.
Kill Your Television.
As far as Iâm concerned CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, etc. should all put a ban on any administration official or Congressional surrogate appearing on any of their shows. It adds no value to have them on the air spinning their propaganda and lies. Just report what theyâve done and put it in context; and point out when they have lied again. Let FOX be the administration propaganda outlet - and point that out frequently, too. If mainstream media is going to have administration officials or aides on the air, the reporters/interviewers better come prepared with facts and know how to effectively use them.
Fake president.
So now I will have to go to Cartoon Network to get a cartoon view of reality. Thatâs OK. Sponge Bob is far more intelligent, decent and in touch with the world than anyone in this White House.
Exactly. The only reason that a news program would even need these people is to be the first to report that the aide had coined a term like âalternative factsâ or had told them to keep their mouths shut.
Now that Trump has announced his SCOTUS nominee, weâre probably in for a rough patch. That was the only card they could play that was in any way normal. Once the praise for the SCOTUS rollout dies down theyâll have to come up with something that will get sound bites, and that demands something crazy.
CNN should continue doing stories where they include space for comment from the White House and then just show an image of it with 10 seconds of silence. Maybe a little close to Clint Eastwood talking to an empty chair, but I still think it would push the point.
Spicer says itâs not a ban-they just canât come here.

Spot on. The vast majority of American âjournalistsâ are easily intimidated by bullies. Even worse, they donât even believe itâs their job to get at the truthâthey see their job as glorified stenography, and thatâs all they aspire to. Without access, stenography is impossible, so CNN will soon roll over on its back, piddle in the air, and beg for restored access.
i understand that. but our fuhrer in chief is obsessed with ratings and viewership. i donât want to provide viewership for shows featuring his staff. same reason i refused to tune in to anything featuring the rollout of the pick last night.
so CNN is a great place to watch news and not give his folksâ appearances any ratings.
