Going back to even before the Central Park Five, Trump has exhibited deeply bigoted behavior and has never apologized for being wrong, regardless when proven wrong. This jackass is so deeply emotionally crippled that he will attempt to manipulate othersā emotions and bigotries in order to gain any advantage. His actions have nothing to do with right or wrong. The ramifications of his actions have little bearing on his decision-making, unless he learns his strategy will cost him power. His actions have everything to do with obtaining greater powerā¦with perceived winning and losingā¦and he rigidly believes that every action is part of a zero sum system, where to gain someone else must lose. This is the behavior learned by someone who is so emotionally crippled that he does not care about anyone other than himself. This behavior is nothing less than sub-human, because it is human to feel empathy and to act with positive morality and ethics. He really doesnāt care one shit about building a damn wall. What he cares about is the power that he gains from the support of others he can manipulate into the belief that a wall will somehow protect them from financial loss, or cultural loss, or physical loss, or the boogie man du jour. As such, he appeals to the baser beliefs of fearful, ignorant people.
Trump is sub-human. Genetically, he is homo sapiens. Emotionally, he is a monster; he is a psychopath. He represents the worst of our society, dressed up in a suit, believing that this makes him respectable, but he gains respect only from sycophants and those who fear him. He is no different than anyone else who will do anything for gain. He is a political thug.

I donāt think Trump hates or loves America. He simply loves himself in a solipsistic way. America is a construct from which he can extract money or power or whatever his ego needs. He seems clueless about its institutions or governing, using the might of our institutional power and the authority of his office to extract personal favors and tribute.

There are times when I wonder if weāre ever going to recover from this presiduncey. He insults our allies, he pretends to befriend our enemies, he meets with NK and actually agrees to nothing of substance and declares the world is safer, he starts trade wars that could quickly escalate into a depression (or a āgreat recessionā).

Which is why I donāt hate him as much as every republican senator and congressman who sits there while their country, and even a few of their stated old fashioned ideals, are trampled into the dust. They are worse than he is. They are richer and more cowardly because they are so cowed by the monster they created.

The solipsistic fantasy in a small child hints at high intelligence and a promise of a great mind. If the fantasy doesnāt emerge until after the age of 10 or so, itās all downhill. In an adult it is extremely dangerous. It is interesting that the US president and Sayfullo Saipov, the Uzbek who mowed down New Yorkers for ISIS, only see a world of themselves. With a little luck, both will find themselves in the same prison sharing their fantasies.

If he had a functioning brain cell he would make the trains run on time. That would mean spending billions on a high speed rail network (like, you know, all the comparable countries in the world have) between big cities, not a tax cut for the wealthy. So, no.
Seriously, if Trump was smart instead of stupid, he would have pushed some big time progressive projects instead of drilling down every day on stupid repressive fascist initiatives. He could have changed most peopleās minds about what he was about. He could have turned into a progressive populist instead of a reactionary populist. This would have meant some dramatic actions like renominating Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. That could have been justified to the wingnuts as a fair thing to do. Then a proposal for high speed rail and modern transit in big cities. He could have imposed lots of his personal reactionary Queens in the fifties agenda under the cover of these kinds of things. But heās too stupid to have done that, and things are getting worse and worse for him every day, not to mention whatever Mueller has hanging over his head - and if Mueller is making the millions spent, is pretty much the sword of Damocles.
