I donāt know international law, but I thought there were treaties to which the US is signatory that govern at least some aspects of asylum claims. Europeās recent experience suggests that whatever the restrictions are, they may not be very stringent or they are not enforced very well. On the other hand, I canāt recall any other nation stooping to separating children from their parents or creating ātender ageā facilities, or ruling out the ability to apply for asylum under these circumstances.
Anyone who blocks an official port of entry would seem to be committing a crime, whether they do it under color of law or not.
