When the Bros. Murdoch took over a few years ago, I too had the impression that they recognized “Fox News” for the swamp that it was but didn’t feel that it was enough of a dumpster fire to actually take action on.
Now that’s changed. James always struck me as much less tolerant of this part of their empire than Lachlan.
Exactly my thoughts. They’re talking about firing him this week. This week, the week of the convention! It must be so hideous, nauseous and ongoing that the need to eliminate him is immediate. I imagine Fox is already exposed in ways that make it a potential liability to keep him on any longer.
After he loses the election this fall, Trump will probably be available. Presumably, he will have spent all of his liquid assets in his vainglorious attempt to buy the presidency and he’d doubtless be open to a high-paying gig. Furthermore, he has the advantage of not needing any ideological retooling.
According to an article in the New Yorker a few years ago, he has hemophilia (or some similar coagulation disorder). He is 76 years old and has been obese for decades. I think he must have made some deal with the devil…most people would not still be alive with that health profile.
No one has ever deserved a good shitcanning’ (?) more than Ailes! Some very good news in the midst of all the national tragedy and the Cleveland FUBAR shitstorm.
Yep, and I bet this is one of those occasions where if Murdoch didn’t know it’s because he made it his business not to know. I fully expect some sort of class action against Fox.
Firing him is the best news I have heard all year. Maybe that network can reclaim some semblance of honesty and provide something other than being a mouthpiece for the RNC. Though I don’t believe they will change much.
