Discussion: Report: Officials Nixed Idea Of Don King, Bill Clinton Accuser Speaking At RNC

Cripes. Barnum & Bailey are going to sue the RNC for trademark infringement on this circus they’re running.

Is Quack Robertson the first speaker?
He could magnificently derail the convention if he doesn’t have a script.
Besides bashing gay marriage and abortion doctors, he could give a full-throated endorsement of torture. I will be asleep when it starts, but I expect splashy headlines tomorrow.

The actual convention speakers’ roster boasts reality stars, soap opera actors and every member of the Trump clan, minus 10-year-old Barron Trump.

Barron has a separate show scheduled, wherein he reveals to other children of sociopaths the inner workings of the Trump dynasty.

The Times reported that top Trump aide Paul Manafort confirmed some speakers would reference Bill Clinton’s “harassment” of women and Hillary Clinton’s “enabling” of that behavior, though.

Oh, please do – please remind all women it’s their fault if their man strays. Probably because they didn’t have their nose and chin fixed or their boobs lifted … you know, like Ivanka OR they can’t afford to smush caviar on their faces every night and get botoxed up every six months … like Melania. Remember, ladies: It’s your fault!

Even those who’ve been approved for speaking slots seem to be in the dark about what’s expected of them, according to the report.

That speaks for itself.

They nixed Don King because he would bring entirely too much class to the proceedings.

If Trump is elected the Times can recycle that line when writing about the first Cabinet meeting.

Superb post. Thanks.

Funny. But we can’t even joke about such a scenario. Cancer and nuclear warfare are also not joking matters.

Oh, I don’t know, even Hiroshima laughs occasionally.

Quite analogous.

Eh, so what. When I think ‘Republican Convention’ all I think of is THIS

I see Count Dracula is whining about the Liberal Media costing him the nomination cause they wanted Von Clownstick to get crushed by Hilary Clinton.

Trump expects utter submission and glowing adulation, of course. Any decent concubine knows that.

And this is why Pence purchased a bunch of Vaseline prior to begging Trump to pick him.

“Donald is most famous for his semi-intelligible speech and his mischievous and temperamental personality. … His anger is a great cause of suffering in his life. On multiple occasions, it has caused him to get in over his head and lose competitions. Delegate from VA has a problem with the lineup

The biggest celebrities other than the nominee will be a star of “Duck Dynasty” and actors from “The Young and the Restless,” “General Hospital” and “Charles in Charge.

“In 2012, it was just speaker after speaker of the best and brightest stars in the Republican Party,” said Tommy Valentine, a delegate from Virginia. “This is not what I’d call A-list

Its going to be interesting to see just how hard the GOP is going to try to spin this convention. Because its not going to play well to Joe Six-Pack that tunes in to watch part of it at night. B and C grade “celebrities” who don’t even know what they are supposed to be speaking about?? Joe Six-Pack is going to get very confused and switch channels very quickly.

And it won’t help that the media covering it WILL see it for the shit storm that it is, and will be cracking jokes and shaking their heads through their analysis.

I’ve no doubt that some GOPers, and Trump surrogates in particular, will be trying their best to shine this turd up…but I question just how much effort will be put into spinning…or will they just let it fade away into forgettable nothingness instead?

“The Omen”

I doubt it. Leslie Stahl should have stood up 5 minutes into her interview with Pence and Trump and announced “This is effing nuts and a pathetic charade” and walked out of the room. The talking heads are under orders to at least pretend an insane narcissist isn’t on the verge of possibly being elected President. Covering the convention with unvarnished candor would generate howls of anger about biased coverage from a dozen different quarters.
