Big mistake. He’s setting himself up for a perjury indictment. One little “mistake” in testimony and he’s up shit creek.

Testified for 4 whole hours?
Pfft. He stood over Mike Brown’s dead body longer…

How many days/weeks did this testification take?

He testified as ling as the prosecutor wanted him to. You got a problem with that?

Let’s hope the GJ interviewed other witnesses as well.

Four hours is a good amount of time to establish the entire set of circumstances, the context, the officer’s training and personal aptitude, the way we give discretion to POs in their duties. It’s time to review all the available footage and testimony, including rebuttals if appropriate. I think Darren Wilson might have gone against the advice of his counsel in agreeing to this; that would mean either it’s in the bag for him or alternately, that he feels genuine remorse and is willing to take the fall.

We will know soon enough. I seriously doubt this grand jury will require until January – I’d look at this part of the case resolving in just a few days, possible and even likely before the end of September. Whether they would be dismissed at that point would depend on technical issues and contingencies that are the DA’s prerogative.

The testimony is a good thing, IOW. I just hope we don’t hear how his lawyer was using up 3 hours and fifty minutes with “clarifications”.

Testifies??? Is that what they call [lying your murderous ass off] these days?

Maybe not. HIs lawyers must think the chance of indictment is small. Otherwise he would not be doing this.

There is one other option— he spent four hours taking the 5th, question by question. it is unusual, but some prosecutors drag it out that way.

A Jim Crow form of government and now the legal system turned on its head to afford the suspect, all of his rights at trial, if indicted, during the star chamber proceedings. This is Wilson’s trial. The DA is dealing off the bottom of the deck assigning the probable cause determination to a jury when the evidence is clear a crime was committed.

He gets to testify in a court of law, yet he judged and executed Michael Brown without due process and under his own authority.

I would tend to think the fact they are putting him on the stand indicates that they think there is a pretty good chance that he will be indicted, so they are pulling out all the stops in an effort to prevent that.

Fuck off you scum bag

The DA punted his prerogatives to the grand jury. Lawyers are not permitted in the proceeding so Wilson either answered the questions or walked out to confer with counsel and pleaded the fifth. Not much clarification in that.

You forgot the low IQ to go with the right and hero.

It seems that nothing brings out the racist trolls more quickly than the possibility of a white man being held accountable for the murder of a black man.
