This story provides TPM readers the perfect opportunity to relitigate the 2016 election. Mud starts flying in 3… 2… 1…
She’s probably not wrong. Particularly about the “Get your s**t together or we will all die” part.
But screw speculation about 2020. Dems have midterms to win, first.
Edited for &&%#!!typo
That was a stupid opinion piece trying to, most likely, relitigate the election.
I guess The Hill needs clicks like any other site.
I love Kiwis, think I’ll go buy a few today. New Zealand is where I wanted to go ride out IQ45s reign of terror but, alas, I have a few responsibilities I cannot leave behind.
Well, that diplomat has it right. A one note cranky geezer - who is still such a jerk that he’s not a Democrat- and a shrill Massachusetts liberal could probably lose to Trump, though I think he will be gone by then, one way or another.
Winning ticket- Sherrod Brown, with Harris or Schiff for VP, and make either one AG if not VP.
One thing is anathema in diplomatic circles – telling the unvarnished truth.
In this modern world, foul language is reserved for presidents and not diplomats.
I’ve been to South Island: it is stunningly gorgeous.
I heard someone (a Kiwi) say on the plane over “People always rave about the California coast, but really, it doesn’t even come close to New Zealand” and I thought “Oh, nonsense”.
He was right.
I live in hope that you Democrats learn the lesson Conor Lamb taught you.
Extreme left is as scary as extreme right.
Get your shit together? Hell as old as all these guys and gals are just collect the depends.
Warren/Sanders is a ticket Fox news could only dream of. Second only to a Pelosi/Chelsea line-up.
Thinking about 2016 or 2020 at this point is counter-productive and dumb – we’ve got 2018 Midterms to win.
Eyes on the prize people…don’t take your eyes off the prize!
Two points: 1) I’m not sure about that; and 2) extreme left isn’t in any danger of taking over the Democratic Party as the extreme right has already done to the Republican Party.
Well, not only can we all agree now that Sanders was a terrible candidate, his current refusal to acknowledge and repudiate Putin’s support is inexcusable. The dustbin of history awaits Sanders.
The Ardern government is in power, because a) a nationalist party chose to work with Labour and not the Nationals and b) their other partner, the NZ Greens decided to shelve any hard feelings and join up with those two.
Btw, Ardern is dealing with this now, so Ms. Beresford, shhhhh.
Sanders/Warren would be the Democratic Party’s parody of “American Gothic”.

The memes write themselves.
The thought of moving to Canada occurred to me. But alas * * * I got responsibilities too.
Democrats need fresh talent to run in 2020 to starkly show how old and feeble the Dotard is.
Kazakhstan is nice… in summer.
