Good comparison, but even so Judith had the gross irresponsibility and facts-be-damned sloppiness, but as a no-account stooge herself, she perhaps lacked the teahadding right wing passion.
If Lara does go to Fox, her regular show should be called, Treason at Benghazi: The Hillary Clinton Hour

It is funny, but my libertarian father-in-law has said (in the past) that he hates 60-minutes because of its left-wing bias. Now I hate 60-minutes because of its right-wing bias. Pretty soon, it won’t any audience left.

For going on two decades now, every time something reprehensible is happening at CBS, it always comes back to some pet or pet project of Les Moonves. I cannot remember a network president who has ended up being named as the responsible party in a story about Networks Behaving Badly more often.

Funny you should say that. I was just thinking that CBS took a real hard right turn a few years back and never seemed to be able to make it work for them ala Faux. Whether it was the hiring of K. Couric who decided it would be a GREAT idea to have Rush Limbaugh on (nightly news) to give some kind semi regular commentary, or S. Attkisson who’s CT regarding the Obama Admin. is simply horrifying, CBS News has slid farther down the path to shame and embarrassment.

Moonves was one of the pioneers in the idea of turning the news division into a profit center rather than a fire-walled credibility generator.
When Reagan era appointees gutted the FCC’s regulatory definition of what constituted “broadcast in the public interest” to mean “spew any kind of content into the air as long as it doesn’t involve naughty bits or the Seven Forbidden Words and let the Free Market Fairies pick the winners,” that was inevitable. But Moonves, when he’s not thinking up “reality” shows of a particularly crass and exploitative nature, was one of those who led the way into the brave new world where network news shows trimmed expensive foreign correspondents and concentrated on reporting cheap domestic manufactured controversies.

Some of this may be about Jan Crawford, CBS’s right-leaning political correspondent and chief legal correspondent, tring to cover her own tracks.
She’s the one who promoted a political environment at CBS in which the likes of Sharyl Attkisson and Lara Logan were allowed to thrive. Under her leadership, the network has been caught offering reactionary propaganda masquerading as journalism (e.g., Logan’s nonsense about Benghazi: the Steve Kroft hit job on Social Security disability benefits: stunningly misleading reportage on ObamaCare: pro-Hobby Lobby coverage of the so-called “religious freedom” issue).
This hasn’t happened just once or twice, but repeatedly, exposing the network to universal scorn and condemnation among those who still care about the profession of journalism. It’s one thing if you do propaganda and get away with it; quite another to do propaganda and find that you’ve been outed as a repeat offender.
I would bet that Crawford is a very nervous woman nowadays.

This is what happens when you hire right wingers. They’re going to lie. CBS knows there is no cover up with Benghazi. Cover up what? If CBS wants ratings, the station can actual do real investigative reporting. They could also expose the Republicans for the complete liars that they are. Republicans lie about everything. There could be a nightly show exposing, in depth, the lies the GOP tell in all of their “scandals.” But the MSM is too afraid of the GOP.
