Not just disagreeing with his policies, the man simply cannot manage his caucus or the day to day business of running the House. And even worse, he makes these screw ups in the most public ways possible…so EVERYONE can see what a complete incompetent he is.

The House GOP leadership is not in full retreat on the flag thing. It doesn’t want to jeopardize sinking the bill the flag provision is attached to, so it’s stripping the flag item out. It’ll get taken up again at a later date.

Yes, but in the meantime, the spending bill it was attached to gets delayed until they resolve it.
Actually, kind of a win-win for the GOP, since Boehner doesn’t have to discuss a spending bill for a department the GOP really doesn’t like and now they can wait until the weekend when the news cycle goes quiet and pass the whole thing without interference or modification.
…House would suspend debate on the Interior spending bill until members sort out the amendments related to the Confederate flag.
“That bill is gonna sit in abeyance until we come to some resolution on this,” Boehner said of the Confederate flag amendments.

This is amazing. The GOP could have spent the next several news cycles basking in the good will the South Carolina GOP’s provided when they voted to remove the Confederate flag from state grounds. They should have easily been able to appropirate that good will on a national scale. Instead, they’ve created this huge mess on a national scale; they’ve got Trump to worry about; they’ve got Jeb’s “work harder” comment to explain. I do often complain about DNC messaging, but maybe they’re smart to sit back for a bit and let the R’s flop around on their own this summer while Hillary’s slowly and steadily doing her thing and acting the adult in the room.
