No one knew who this man was until today. Who was sending him death threats? His cop buddies? I doubt it. He fled like the coward he’s proven himself to be.

If Wilson’s got the most time on the squad, he’s “technically” a veteran. I get the sense turnover may be as big a problem as training in Ferguson PD.

I’m guessing most of the “delay” in announcing his name was used to fillet his record of anything really egregious. I mean, they gave the son of a bitch a 5-day head start. Who says they wouldn’t do other things to bollocks up the investigation?

I don’t think they consider a cop in Chicago with six years experience a veteran. Most wouldn’t even have their first murder by then.

Up until 1999 Detroit cops and firefighters had to live within city limits. In 2011, Mayor Bing at the time tried an incentive program to get cops and firefighters to move back into the city, since 53% lived outside the city proper in surrounding suburbs. Its a problem in many urban cities.

I fully understand the need to get this officer’s family to safety but he should stay. He started this and it is time for he and the police to take responsibility for their actions in the aftermath.

Such a tough guy cop. I can understand getting the wife and kids out of town, but instead of manning up and accepting the consequences for his actions, he’s hiding like a coward. He can run but he can’t hide forever.

I know when he left town. 5 minutes after his shift was over. When a police officer pumps 6 rounds into a kid with his hands in the air and there are WITNESSES, he leaves within minutes. Mexico is my guess.
