Discussion for article #239878
Sheâs trying to shock and awe Biden, despite her silvery tongued blarney about adoring him.
Subtext is âForget it, Joe. Youâre awesome, but itâs a foolâs errand.â
(In my best Mexican accent)
âThen, SenoraâŚwhen will they be released?â
SeriouslyâŚ
I second the first postâŚ
Hillary is doing exactly the things she needs to do to win the nomination. Iâm sure she will be criticized for that for some reason.
Clintonâs campaign reportedly boasted that more than 440 superdelegates â more than 50 percent of those needed to secure the nomination â have already publicly or privately committed to the candidate, according to Halperin.
Though its Halperin.
Dear Clinton Campaign
Thank you.
The math is off here.
If these 440 superdelegates are âmore than 50 percent of those needed to secure the nominationâ, then thatâs a minimum of 25% of the delegates.
So sheâs locked up more than 1 in 4, not one in 5.
(My complaint is with the writerâs math, not Halperin or Hillary.)
And, as we have seen in the past, if you donât have the support of the state delegates, all those super delegates matter for naught as they will drop their support if Clinton starts losing states hard.
If you can stomach Morning Joe, Mika (and the rest) never fail to find something to criticize Hillary and her campaign.
Not sure itâs smart for any campaign to be so confident that theyâre counting on so many at this early stage. To many, it will reek of hubris.
Halperin is the living embodiment of Beltway CW douchenozzle asshattery.
Nothing to do with the story. Just thought it needed to be noted.
Indeed. This is the sort of game Ron Paul played.
Itâs simply too early to be making these claims, as a lot can happen in what, 9 months until the primaries are completed? If this is true, then the party is just as corrupt as those fascist republicans. Sanders still has my vote.
n that is why the Clinton campaign (or âadvisorsâ) shouldnât say anything like that. All it does is tic off voters who could have issues about her still.
have already publicly or privately committed to the candidate, according to Halperin.
So nothing binding then?
I must be misunderstanding the meaning of the phrase âlocked upâ.
The only thing that matters to these beltway a$$holes is the horse race - the most worthless and least informative aspect of any run for office. But itâs good to know that Halperin wonât ever stop giving Tiger Beat on the Potomac a run for its money (good to know who to continue to ignore, that is).
And Hillary herself, in 2008.
VP Biden would just be a spoiler at this point. There is already an alternative to Hillary and his name is Bernie Sanders. Also, OâMalley, Webb, Chaffee, are alternatives and each one is different in their policies as the other candidates. What is different about VP Biden?? He wants to be the incumbent candidate, but Hillary has already got her dibbs on being the incumbent. She doesnât want to take away any policies President Obama has in place, but improve on them. What would be different than VP Biden saying the same thing???
From the film âBarbershopââŚmaybe not a good actual example, but the emotion and feeling in Anthony Anderson just CANâT be duplicated.
Anderson [to the cop cruiser passing by]:
âNothing to see here!â
Something like, âOnly 1/5? You would think that she should have all of them wrapped up by now. This proves that the email scandal is really taking a toll on her ability to win the nomination.â
Lord, please rapture me now.
Biden is gathering people together to say that he is emotionally battered and bruised and he needs to feel sure is ready to accept the nomination before he decides to run.
Iâm sorry for his recent lost. But that is no way to begin a Presidential campaign and Hillary is perfectly right to go for the jugular.
Iâve always had the impression that she likes Joe, nor do I think saying, he should make the decision that is best for him is blarney.
And it would be foolish of her campaign not to point to the writing on the wall for the Biden supporters. There are other reports out today that that is pretty much what they are doing right now on donor calls. Which is what any campaign would do in her situation.
What I donât understand is why so many Dems seem to think her campaign should go to great lengths to prop up a possible opponent.
