Joe Paterno, Jerry Sandusky, there’s a whole lot to choose from.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is adamantly denying allegations that he knew—and intentionally overlooked—that the doctor for Ohio State’s wrestling team was sexually abusing students
Jordan: I did not “ignore” anything …
… translation: I quietly & secretly followed each & every tantalizing & arousing detail
all about honor and integrity until it’s time to show some
Cue Kansas.
But he knew
Knew more than me or you
No one could see his view
Where was he going to?
The answer? He was going to get in front of a national audience and raise his profile with a viciously inane attack on Rod Rosenstein which caused others “Who Knew” to come forward with facts formerly suppressed that will force him to step down.
#hoboheretic #twistedlyrics Enjoy.
He “never knew” anything about anything, but that hasn’t stopped him before.
You can tell when Jordan is lying because he gets all self-righteous and blustery. That’s his tell.
Yes. “A lot of people are saying” that.
I have no compunction about this strategy at this point.
You can tell that this report worried him. He put on a jacket to say, “I never knew”.
So at best, if we believe his bullshit excuse, he is admitting he is 100% worthless as a responsible adult when it comes to oversight authority.
Got it.
So he sits on what committee posturing and hectoring the DOJ in handling criminal investigation again?
Are there any right-wing Republicans not involved in sexual weirdness? From Roy Moore to this creep to, of course, the pervert-in-charge at the top, they all seem freaky deaky.
Revolting! Jordan is so clearly lying!
If he can’t protect young people from being sexually molested by the guy with the next locker over with whom he shares an office all day, how can he be in a position of authority anywhere!?
Jordan approves molesting young people! Period!
Yeah, “I never knew” when there are an estimated minimum of 1500 to 2000 victims. It just doesn’t pass the laugh test.
Jordan’s resume reads a lot like Hastert’s. Christian conservative extremist, Republican, wrestling coach and member of Congress. It doesn’t make sense to generalize beyond the available data points at this time. Roy Moore, Newt Gingrich, Roy Moore, Preshitident Skanky-Manslut and now Jim Jordan may be?
Seriously this abuse is a hideous situation
And maybe there is a chance that 25-30 years ago he “knew” little … and maybe had no direct personal knowledge.
So maybe an ounce of validity to -
- “I never knew about any type of abuse."
BUT - If there are documents that show that on multiple occasions he had been informed by others. - well then fry his ass … question endlessly whether he in fact might have participated in the actions maybe he is also an abuser.
Oh -and totally call BS on his statement
“If I did, I would have done something about it.”
… no he would not … not unless he had rock solid proof … so solid that it would shield him from all risk. 25-30 years ago it would have been total career suicide to try to call out a person in a position of power with a handful of statements … Jordan would not have bucked the establishment and done anything about this.
And found out before becoming Speaker rather than after retiring from the Speakership. That is actual, measurable progress! Next step, discovery before being elected in the first place.
tell us how the real scandal is about the FBI spying on yer wresting team couch !..so outrageous and biased !
Can TPM give us members a page we’re allowed to cuss on becuz its hard to look at these sick idiots and not do it !..its not even healthy to hold all that in !
was silence with bosses from that era really about careers ? …Paterno could have done something…willful ignorance and cowardice maybe
Rep. Jordan, if, as you say, none of your wrestlers came to you with their complaints . . . why didn’t they?
TPM gives out a Golden Duke Award for awkward graft and unmasked corruption, what would “The Hastert Award” look like?
…would it be annual?
Jordan’s the perfect recipient, he may have won more than one, if there were one.
I gotta guess he was gonna hide behind plausible deniability, he said/she said and the relative weight afforded student and adult testimony, which is often good enough in an administrative hearing but which doesn’t necessarily hold up so well in an actual court.
Lol, first thing that popped into my mind too.
