Gee, didn’t see that coming…

Why is it always the communications manager who writes this stuff? The major must attract major assholes.

But, Problem Solved, toadily, amiright?

I mean, it’s not as if any actual thinking human would even suggest that Rep Schock’s having hired this person as his offices Communications Director has any MEANING.

I guess the KKK will have one member less in Congress. Now, he can change back to his white hood and robe.

C’mon TPM Editors…which is it? The comm director resigned or he was fired? Based on the meat of the article, it appears he resigned. There is no indication that Rep Schock asked for the resignation, just that he met with the comm director. Accepting a resignation is not firing someone. Although it would have been better if he had just fired him outright, in my opinion.

The fact that Schock hired him in the first place is telling.
And please don’t try to tell me Schock did not know; if Cole was so open and vocal online, chances are he was three times more so in person.

Good riddance but there are many many more Republicans who have not yet made the mistake of openly discussing their true racist views online. Someone will be there to fill Cole’s shoes in no time.

A shame he resigned so fast though; it did not give Mia Love a chance to defend his good name and vouch for his great character.

Now to get rid of Schock! He did hire Cole after all!!!

“Upon learning about them, I met with Mr. Cole and he offered his resignation.”

Because I’m sure the now fired spox’s views on things were totally unknown to him, right? Right?

The fact that he hired Ben Cole is disturbing. He didn’t just learn about such views. That is total BS. In fact, I bet he agrees with Ben.

“You’ve created a bit of a crisis in the office.” Goodness, this Cole fellow is a veritable fortune teller!

If this jerk had just went with the flow, let the Washington Post do its goofy story about the Downton Abbey-themed office (it was for the Style section, it would have been one day of a few chuckles and over), none of this would be happening. But because being gay - or even suspected of being gay -  in still seen as a sin for a Republican politician, they overreacted and now oops. The sooner Republicans get over their homophobia, the better off not only gays but the GOP itself will be. The racism part, that they will never get over.

Where’s that libtard guy? I’m sure he’ll be adding his ignorant voice soon.

Awwww…isn’t that cute? A little spokescritter who think it’s cool to make fun of the President’s supposed lack of religiosity, all the time working for a Congressman who the Old Testament would say is abhorrent to God.

All they had to do was say, “Come on in, we’ll show you around. When the congressman decided to self-fund a remodel of his offices, he wanted to go for a modern yet stately look that would make his office seem more accessible to young people” or some such nonsense. The Post would’ve taken their pictures, the Beltway crowd would have had their laughs over their morning coffee, Boehner would’ve had another drink, and everybody would’ve kept it moving.

The real scandal is neither Schock nor his COS Mark Roman did a background investigation of the SPOX. It isn’t like Cole was going to be someone hidden in a backroom handling routine constituent relations.
