‘The Stupidest Things I’ve Ever Heard’
Must not have listened to many of rAyn’s previous utterances.
“one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard.”
I agree with you the Ryan’s statement was stupid, but really Governor, have you been asleep for the 17 months?
“We play identity politics. It isn’t good.”
That’s also among 'The Stupidest Things I’ve Ever Heard" – especially from a supposed Democratic leader.
I am sick of the wedge issue ‘pro life’. CLEARLY, the Cons only use it to bash and don’t give a sht when it comes to talking about actual breathing human beings…then they are just moochers and takers. You can be ‘personally opposed to abortion’ and still support a WOMAN’S RIGHT TO CHOOSE…you know, have dominion over her OWN damn body.
Someone may want to slap Ed. Joe Manchin is a Senator - he doesn’t get to vote for Speaker of the House.
Edit: I didn’t give Ed enough credit. Whoops.
Both candidates may have run as conservatives. But only one of those conservatives is going to vote to impeach Trump.
Ryan is only called a smart guy because the media doesn’t want to believe that the Speaker is a complete moron. He’s sane, but that doesn’t mean he’s intelligent.
“That’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard.”
An overstocked category to which we can add Rendell’s own “[Lamb’s] more pro-life than most Democrats.”
“I thought Paul Ryan has a reputation of being a smart guy,” Rendell replied. “That’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard.”
He added
"You’re up next pretty boy We’re taking your incompetent ass out "
No need to slap anyone.
“As I tell my friends, the most important vote that Connor Lamb or Joe Manchin will make is they’ll vote to have a new speaker [of the House] who will control the Democratic agenda and bring it to the floor, and a new majority leader in the Senate who will do the same thing,”
“The core values of the Democratic Party going back 50 years are values that most Americans agree with, and we have gotten away from them,” the former governor said later. “We play identity politics. It isn’t good.”
Nobody – and I mean nobody – plays identity politics like Republicans.
The next time someone accuses Democrats of playing identity politics…
They can shove “working-class whites” up their partisan divide.
Ed Rendell needs to just sit the fck down and shut the fck up. He’s emblematic of the worst faction of the Democratic party and his time has passed.
He is the key f*ckwad who foisted the milquetoast candidate Katy McGinty on us and gave Toomey another 6 years in the senate. Rendell hates Sestak because he refused to back out of the race so that opportunist Arlen Specter could run as a Dem instead.
Enough of the Rendells of the party!
And only one candidate will vote for a Democrat as Speaker of the House.
“Pro-life” needs to be redefined to include healthcare for all and reasonable gun control laws. Pass those laws and you’ll save many more lives than by trying to restrict abortion. But it’s really about control to them.
Andrea Mitchell said Ryan’s message was that “the Democrats have had to field a candidate who was really spouting Republican policies here and that it was not a clear win, certainly not for the progressive wing of the Democratic Party.”
Way to reinforce the Republican’s message for them Andrea. What you could have said was:
“Ryan failed to note the Democratic policies Lamb was promoting such as: no cuts to social security and medicare, stronger unions, universal healthcare, expanded gun background checks, medical marijuana and he said he would fight for pro-choice legislation”.
This is why even if Democrats over perform to the tune of 10% or more in every election, and retake the entirety of gov’t it will always be an uphill battle, because the political press starts from a Republican point of view, and consisntly reinforces their talking points for them.
Couldn’t agree more. That was just profoundly stupid on his part because with that statement, Ed contradicted everything else he said.
Been a lot of articles asking if Tillerman was worst Secretary of State ever, what about Ryan as Speaker? He is completely worthless as a leader of anything for anyone.
On a completely different note, what is with every young male Democrat dumping on Nancy Pelosi? There was a speaker with results. All you need say is thank you.
this “lambs a conservative” claim was the fox news spin some days ago…and it seems to be spreading…
He seems to have some middle-of-the-road, dare I say, conservative values. It’s odd that Ryan would lay claim to that nugget, because the GOP has essentially abandoned those positions and gone extremely rightwing over the past several years, thus opening the middle ground to the Democrats.
