I have this sneaking suspicion that this is not going to turn out well. For us.

I do not believe that I was this ashamed to be an American even at the beginning of the Iraq war.

Remember when we invaded Iraq to free the innocent Iraqi peoples from the despotic evil ruler Saddam Hussein?

Good times!

You know, I agree with you. There was a real clash of principles back then. I believe one side was completely wrong, and acted against the interests of our country, but there were two sides. Our site’s founder was more on the side of the war than not, at some point.
Here, you just have the ugly exercise of power, used out of fear to satisfy bigots. I believe that within days, people who are denied refuge will be sent back to their certain deaths.

Let’s hope the courts are able to intervene quickly in this bullshit. I won’t type what else this makes me hope.

Trump saves 500 Carrier jobs an wants a ticker tape parade but then turns around and imperils 6 million US jobs with regard to the Mexico trade war and is probably going to hobble hi tech in the US by limiting inflow of knowledgeable human capital. I guess it makes sense in some respects since Trump seems to want to take us back 40 years and return America to a manufacturing rather than knowledge based economy.

I guess it’s time for me to cite my Canadian citizenship rather than the American, in certain situations.

They traveled here in American Basic Economy class. Haven’t they suffered enough?

He signed the orders using a pen made in China. Perfect symbolism.

Well at least he’s not shutting out countries where he has business partners. He can do that because the president doesn’t have conflicts. Hopefully this emboldening of ISIS is directed to his properties outside of the United States.

Maybe this administration will historically un-unify the United States. Let’s break up into sovereign states! Then his supporters and the GOP can live behind their walls (if we’re lucky) stroke their firearms, play Alex Jones from city loudspeakers, drink polluted water and breathe air “free” of pesky regulations, go back to leeches for healthcare, and hold weekly hate sessions. It really might come to that.

“Extreme vetting” is just a euphemism for Muslims need not apply. Absolutely shameful and against our shared values.

These two appeared to have been working with our armed forces. So we’re going to thank them by holding them hostage at an airport? Why would anyone in Mid-East countries choose to work with us now?

[/quote]For the refugees, too. And for pretty much anyone but the Trumptard.

If only we could travel back in time and have that man’s father vetted (and neutered).
