I do not know Roberts personally, but he can stop the Trump/Chump train very soon if he somehow gets word to Trump that:
Trump making the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court his personal slave is not in his gameplan.
The judge denied a stay pending appeal.
THAT is where the smackdown lies.
Nobody expected this case to go for Trump. But no “stay pending appeal”? That’s nasty

But the judge declined to issue a stay pending appeal. Which is very significant… Right now, Trump lawyers are running to the Appeals Court, trying to find a judge who will issue an emergency stay.

After reading more of the opinion, its clear that an emergency stay is not necessary — “the parties” reached an agreement that allowed seven days between this decision coming down, and Mazar’s producing the documents. So Trump has a week to get his stay.
But its still a smackdown

update: watching cnn … and the point was made that these docs are held by the accounting firm, so out of dotard’s hands. will they want to risk disobeying a judicial order?
