Discussion: Rand Paul Won't Go To Undercard Debate: I'm Not A 'Minor Campaign'

Discussion for article #244536

What, you gonna hold your breath until you turn blue, Randy?

Nothing sweeter than when the entitled rich kid finally has to learn the meaning of “No.” Let the humiliation begin!

It’s kind of ridiculous to arbitrarily rate the campaigns based on national polling.

you go, rand. unskew this arbitrary polling shit. math and science ain’t nothin’ but arbitrary sorcery. and while you’re at it, make sure they let the Rent’s Too Damn High guy on stage, too.

Rand is right, and it’s a slippery slope. If we arbitrarily rate the campaigns on “polling,” we’ll soon be electing candidates based on “voting.”

This is what happens when self-delusion collides head on with reality.

“You want war? We’ll give it to you.”

Problem is, Randall, that all the other Republican candidates are offering bigger and better wars.

“I’m not willing to accept a designation as a minor campaign. We’ve
raised $25 million. We’ve gotten on the ballot on every state. It’s kind
of ridiculous to arbitrarily rate the campaigns based on national
polling.”

In a party where $25 million is absolute chicken feed for candidates who sell themselves out to the Kochs, Adelsons, Singers, and countless other far-right billionaires, you’re going to have to accept the fact that, compared to all the other whores, you’re just not very good at it.

Why doesn’t Paul go Galt and start his own debate? Isn’t that the appropriate Randian response? What’s up with all this whining?

whiny petulant child holding his breath and stamping his feet when told he can’t sit where he wants…

I’d’ve said when told he can’t sit at the adult table and was relegated to the child’s table but it’s not possible to tell which is which anymore…

Damn it, I am entitled.

Just so I am clear on this, Randy. When you come in last in Iowa will you say that the results are arbitrary numbers and that you actually won?

Nah, what’s ridiculous is that you knew that was how the Republican Party structured the debate format a year ago and yet you think whining about it now will change anything. Who do you think you are… Trump??

Too bad I liked the way he pointed out that chrispie was looking to start ww3

Ah yes, the “the polls must be wrong, look how big our crowds are” stage. The primary equivalent of the “the only poll that matters is the one in November” general election death rattle.

do you suppose his idea of ‘war’ is a minor pissing contest?

I kind of agree with Paul. I hope he starts to throw bombs at the other candidates. He is the only Republican with radically different views than the others, especially in foreign policy.

Just this week, in New Hampshire, we had bigger crowds at the Exeter Town Hall than Bill Clinton.

Remind me again - what office is Bill Clinton running for?

I somewhat agree with you, and will definitely be sorry to see Paul leaving the main stage. He was the only one that ever presented a contra point of view on any subject. Otherwise its just seeing who can agree with random talking point the most vigorously inter-mixed with personal, snarky attacks.

That be said, however…Paul is having zero impact upon the campaign. The race is Trump, Cruz, and one of Rubio,Bush, Kasich, Christie.

Basically its closing time for Paul and Fiorinia (and probably Carson)…they don’t have to go home but they can’t stay on the main stage anymore.
