Discussion: Rand Paul Won't Go To Undercard Debate: I'm Not A 'Minor Campaign'

He has nothing to fear for turning down his option to the undercard debate. Reading other reports of impact of these debates, he would be better spending his time elsewhere, almost anywhere else. Rand, and Dad Paul, were right about one major policy: get out of destroying / attacking the world and help domestically save the Middle Class, and Lower Class, and We The People by investing right here those $100s of billions spent destroying lives worldwide. Presently, every president makes life worse for most of us, including Obama. Yes, he could have made life even worse, just as anyone else will / can. He wouldā€™ve made life even worse if he remained president, but they are all alike in the bottom line. Not a single one of them is going to improve anything except the fatness of their wallets, except for Bernie.

I agree with what you say about Paul. See my statement below regarding his and his Dadā€™s foreign policy.

Rand was a minor campaign from the day he announced, however this damages the GOP as it narrows acceptable party member responses to topics like privacy and foreign intervention.

Makes sense, he is not really running anymore, why attend the charade?

Maybe he should give Tweety a call and go on his show during the debate

Chris Matthews: Rand Paul Will Be Republican Presidential Nominee in 2016

Woah! He had bigger crowds in New Hampshire than Clinton? Thatā€™s pretty awesome! Oh, you mean, the other Clinton, not the one thatā€™s actually running for President? Thatā€™s slightly less impressive. Slightly.

Although, they oughta drag his political carcass onto the main stage, if only because heā€™s about the only one that does offer a different view than the Kill 'Em All crowd, in terms of foreign policy. Then again, thatā€™s why he never stood a chance at the nomination - occasionally making sense is a death knell in the GOP primary.

Well, you are a minor candidate! Just like your dad always was!

Hey, rat-hair says, ā€œI donā€™t believe science and I donā€™t believe in no stinking math eitherā€!

So if randy canā€™t play with the big boys (which makes me smile), why can jebbers? Heā€™s polling nationally at THREE (3%)!! I thought the gop/bag debate rules for the big boy table cut off at 5%.

Smart move. He will get much more attention this way and really has nothing to loose.

ā€œIā€™m not willing to accept a designation as a minor campaign. Weā€™ve raised $25 million. Weā€™ve gotten on the ballot on every state. Itā€™s kind of ridiculous to arbitrarily rate the campaigns based on national polling.ā€

Where do you start? You donā€™t ā€œarbitrarilyā€ rate a candidacy if you use polling data to do that. Fund raising and just being on the ballot makes you a candidateā€¦it does not make you a strong one. But isnā€™t this the modern day GOPā€™er at work? Dissonant, delusional and thinking the world outside his bubble is just like the one within.

Heā€™s polling very poorly with the American GOPā€™ers. He needs them to win. That makes his campaign quixotic although I donā€™t think they have debate slated for those. Andā€¦heā€™s not in the race anymore.

I gotta give Tweety half credit on this one. While he was completely wrong about who would be the nominee, he wasnā€™t wrong about the why. Nobody believed Trump would make a serious run, and even fewer believed heā€™d be taken seriously, but it increasingly appears that Matthews was correct in believing the base would choose the most ridiculous, bombastic anti-establishment candidate running. Whoda thunk thereā€™d be at least two candidates worse than Rand?

Rand: I am white and for sale. Give me money and you get unlimited free speech.
Kochs etc: Who is Ayn Rand?

Everyone knows that is SCOTUSā€™s job!

Dammit, Aqua Buddha, Iā€™ve got Santorum, Fiorina and Huckabee quitting before you do.

Wait your damn turn.
