I was reading this AM how not only will Trump not have a “honeymoon” as a new President, but he will start office with the lowest Presidenial favorability rating ever. God forbid that some GOP House members and Senators would have actually developed some wonkish interest in health care and insurance over the time since Bill and Hillary Clinton first tried to address the issue. But, it is probably much more fun to spend 24 years coming up with 2 slogans (Hillarycare, Death Panels) and a variation of the first than to actually develop some policy chops. I am fondly and nostalgically remembering Republicans like Richard Lugar, Jack Kemp and Nelson Rockefeller. I guess we wont see their likes again.

If Trump was smart he’d blow off everyone and go single payer then browbeat the Rs into a massive infrastructure rebuild and renew omnibus bill, forego the Wall charade and browbeat sane immigration reform while settling issues with Russia and China…but he seems more focused on an omnibus Affordable Billionaire & Mega Corp Act.
