Discussion: Putin: Russian State Has Never Engaged In Hacking!

NYTimes: The Agency: From a nondescript office building in St. Petersburg, Russia, an army of well-paid “trolls” has tried to wreak havoc all around the Internet — and in real-life American communities.

So then what’s the Russian word for it?

Psst, Vlad—don’t you think true patriots would release the tape of Trump having sex with underage girls?

But the Russian leader admitted the possibility that some individual
“patriotic” hackers could have mounted some attacks amid the current
cold spell in Russia’s relations with the West.

cold spell in relations???
What more does trump need to do?

Yes. Much like the attacks by Drake, Hawkins and the like against Spanish shipping, completely unauthorized by Queen Elizabeth–who got a share of the takings.

Putin KNOWS that Russian interference in 2016 is going to be thoroughly exposed during the current investigations. He’s just managing PR.

Wait till Trumps 5 million new bots get going, it will be “conventional wisdom” in no time.

Bloody genius post of the day. Nailed it !!!

Well, “Russian Patriots” are going to extremes in many other ways, e.g. by extrajudicial killing of journalists, dissident and critics of Vlad Putin, so I’m willing to believe Vlad in this case…

This tiresome old queen is begging for a space rock on one of his secret dachas…

Murderer.

I find this to be a very curious, partly because it was so unnecessary, statement by Putin regarding an issue that appears to be pretty well taken as a given in public consciousness.

I tend not to see Putin and his KGB minions as the evil geniuses that others have perceived them as being. I suspect that this was a misstep by Putin, albeit perhaps an attempt to get out in front of, and thus distract attention from, some new revelations that he knows are imminent.

I see the steamroller gaining momentum as it rolls down the hill that Trump and Putin have created for it. It will be interesting to see what happens when it comes crashing to the bottom. I expect some widespread and long-reaching fallout, that many on the right are ill-prepared for.

Translation: “***Of course I did it. Whaddaya gonna do about it, puny bitch?***”

trolls are anyone you don’t agree with? anyway,Shouldn’t we see the proof that the Russians actually did that? I’m open to the idea, but I’m also open to the idea that it’s been exaggerated and that the CIA is blaming Russia for things we do as well (interfering in foreign elections). Hillary appears to be a neo-con. She gathered her neo-con dead enders to her would-be administration and they would need to continue to hold Russia out as boogie man, whether they posed h threat we keep hearing they pose, or not. Playing devils advocate here to some extent but smart people won’t buy the trump people’s “reality” on face value anymore than they should buy the reality being sold by the mainstream pres and the neo-con dead enders, either.

Socialista…didn’t trump seem to release his little bit of tax return through Rachel Maddow and other people on the left?
Who actually gets this stuff released means little. When one thrives on releasing/leaking things like Wikileaks does, or in when a a government at odds with us, such as like Ecuador (or even the New York Times) releases something, you have to remember that the willingness to release/publish ect. makes one vulnerable to being used. I’m just saying there’s a possibility that all is not as it seems here. Things rarely are, in my experience. on another subject, this whole trump leak thing begs the question: isn’t wholesale leaking giving foreign intelligence services lots of insights as to how certain info is collected? Seems unsafe to me. helps people on the other side identif weaknesses to be exploited, or by their own weaknesses that are being exploited. This isn’t rocket science, others have thought of this, and I’d be surprised if there isn’t quite a bit of dis-info and “confusers” coming out from all quarters involved. Anyone who think’s they’re sure of what’s really happening here is delusional.

Birds of a feather…

You call what happens in Russia an election? Interesting.

Snicker. We all ready know that whoever ‘released’ dats through Wikileaks corrupted part of it hoping to fool
the FBI.

Trump assembled a bunch of people who thought that other people’s data was theirs to do what they wanted with. Now he’s in a White House that leaks like a sieve even when his own mouth is closed.

like I said…anyone who thinks they know what’s really going on from our vantage point here at TPM, or as consumers of other mass media, any intelligence service or national police force or any hacker group group like Wikileaks, is delusional.
