While he’s certainly more clever than PeePee - not a high bar - you do get the feeling he senses the walls are closing in, as his own populace tires of his corrupt and mendacious antics.

I don’t recall seeing this discussed much, if at all, but what makes people believe that Putin’s efforts to get Tramp into the WH started once he became the apparent nominee?
Putin and his cronies had compromised Tramp many years ago and their kompromat just increased as the years, and the rubles, went by. In order to get Tramp into the WH, he had to become the GOP nominee. In order to become the nominee, wouldn’t they have made extraordinary efforts to ensure that that happened?
Given the Cambridge Analytica and Bannon’s deep background and the Mercers and Kushner’s involvement with “teh cyber” and the P2P connection of that server in Tramp Tower and, and, and… the list goes on, is it out of the realm of possibility that the hacking of voter DBs and micro-targeting started in June 2015 or even before?
It must have taken years of detailed planning to find their Manchurian Candidate. Why would they wait to see if he could become the nominee before taking action to close the deal and take the WH?
It doesn’t matter who did it. The GOP had no qualms about using it to their advantage to skew the election. They are all complicit, ALL GUILTY. They only win by cheating, voter suppression, and gerrymandering.
Mostly I sense logic impairment. CIA/NSA were hacking the DNC and RNC in 2016 and making it look like Russia did it? Then DNC-only content appears on a website protected by Ecuador – a nation friendly with Russia and unhappy with the U.S.? Immediately a Russian troll army springs into action spinning this content as if it were damaging to Clinton. What?
So Putin softens his denials that Russians hacked the DNC because he knows they’ve been caught, and the jig is up. Now he moves to distancing himself from the sponsors of that hacking activity. We also all remember iDiJiT calling out for the Russians to conduct such activity, at his request, no less. Very publicly on worldwide television. The evidence of Russian interference has been secured. trumPP was asking for them to do more. That’s collusion. That’s treason.

Putin predicted “this will end, sooner or later,” adding that “we are patient, we know how to wait and we will wait.”
He is getting dangerously close to tossing Trump under the bus, just like Trump has done to so many (basically everyone who has ever defending him on his behalf).
And even with this, Trump is still too stupid to see that that IS the end game here for him with regards to Putin. When either Putin is done with him, or he becomes too high maintaince , Putin WILL burn him in precisely this manner…only a much bigger and more detailed scale.
Unfortunately, too many American techie boyz are completely taken in by hating their own government and continue to laud super thief and general schmuck Snowden to care. Or even bother to fight back.

Cool. Putin is NOW taking cues from the Republicans. DENY it ever happened and then add a caveat if it DID happen it wasn’t a REPUBLICAN that did it but a sympathetic ‘patriot’ that the Republicans would never endorse and besides they only did it because those pesky Democrats drove them to it…kind of like the ‘lone shooter’ theory.
Not mentioned: What motivates these “patriotic hackers” to spend hours and hours writing code and hacking US targets like the DNC and our various news outlets and banking system? Answer: 6 digit pay checks signed by Putin’s bank as a shell operation to Russia’s FSB (the former USSR’s KGB which Putin ran for many years).
Putin’s so called “patriotic hackers” earn a very large government paycheck. Some of his hackers actually work in Trump’s various properties in the US - mainly Florida and NYC.
Better wait until Spicer & Hannity confirms it and Fox & Friends propagate it.
