For added irony,Texas, Alabama and Mississippi passed laws, quite recently, making it illegal to own or sell sex toys. The unbelievably conservative U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit struck down the Texas law but I’m pretty sure the 'Bama and Mississippi laws haven’t been challenged yet.
