Protesting is fine, but these people need to vote.

Why assume they didn’t?

I didn’t say all of them or a larger percentage didn’t vote.

I will say that apathy is responsible for this crisis though.

Uhhhh They did …and elected a Democratic Governor

Then there’s this…

Court Rules That North Carolina Districts Are “Racially Gerrymandered” and Unconstitutional

These protesters do not look apathetic to me.

To be honest, the problem isn’t today’s apathy, but yesterday’s. For the last two and a half decades, the GOP has been working hard to shut the Democrats out of power and few voters protested until now.

The gerrymandering issue has to be addressed on either the federal or state judicial level.

However it shouldn’t take this amount of chicanery to make people realize why voting is important.

A short excerpt from the NC Legislative proceedings this morning:

"Now that the Democrat-Paid ISIS-Sponsored Out-of-State Rabble-Rousing Ni(CLANG!)-Loving Communist Qu**r-hustlers have been removed, the chamber will now come to order.

On the issue of Legislative-Enforced Banana Republic status, all those in favor please say “Baaaaaaaa!”.

All opposed, shut the fuck up – we don’t care what you think.

The motion is hereby agreed to. Adjourned."

Oh wait. There’s one other motion to be made:

Boycott North Carolina!! Boycott North Carolina!!

Come of, large NC businesses – contact your lawmakers and make sure they know how much you despise this power grab. Threaten to move your business elsewhere.

I appreciate your optimism but that is the nature of the beast.
America is for the most part, is too stupid for democracy .
Democracy involves thought and critical thinking , several skills that their other plan (dumbing down the schools and public education) has exceeded beyond their wildest expectations . Witness: Donald J Trump PEOTUS
Remember him … he was the guy who was endorsed by exactly 2 newspapers nationwide … aw fuck that … who reads newspapers when you’ve got TMZ

That picture should be the new state symbol.

“C’mon guys, take a hint. We are having these secret sessions at night so nobody can see/know what is going on. We know best what is good for you so just go home. Okay?”

Way to go North Carolina! Not going to waste my time bitching about how you got here, I’d rather stand and give applause for getting fired up and ready to go. (Not that any of this activity helped Wisconsin but ya gotta start somewhere)

Yes. Let them know NC is not Mississippi, Louisiana or Selma, Alabama circa 1964 (or even 2016).

Do you remember the Judge who said these lawmakers ‘wrote with surgical precision, laws to disenfranchise and deny ppl of their vote’?
The GOP have attacked our most basic rights making it harder to get rid of them.

I blame Charlotte. If they hadn’t passed a law supporting LBQT rights, the state legislature would not have been required to pass a gender access to public toilets bill, causing economic damage to the state, and making Gov McCrory unpopular enough to lose re-election. It’s simple once you spell it out.

The national Republican Party will view these shenanigans as a trial balloon. If they get away with it without paying a price, get ready for Gleichschaltung on a national level.

Hit the state economically. That is the ONLY thing that Art Pope and the Republicans are going to understand. Call your corporations. Get them to back the protest.

They did.
