Yesterday, The Apprentice played the role of an adult, as he " listened" to a contingent of survivors, parents of slain children, and other victims of gun violence. Unfortunately, it appears that he has already abandoned the role of an adult, and he is back tweeting like the adolescent bully, that he has always been., that more guns is the solution. The Superintendent of Broward County and the Sheriff of Broward County have stated very clearly that they disfavor this approach. Once again, it appears that he did not listen. More guns is not an answer to gun violence. Restrictions on access to semiautomatic weapons, restrictions or a ban of bump stocks,more meaningful background checks, restrictions or a ban of 30+ shell magazines , increasing the age of gun ownership, requiring gun owners to carry liability insurance, similar to car owners, and registration of firearms should be on the table.

ETA: And do colleges now need to include weapons training as part of teacher education programs? Do we now add target shooting in a crisis situation to the test of basic skills before getting a teaching license? Maybe just drop some of the content area education and instructional techniques to make room for para-military courses.
And the cost of these school armories will come out of gifted learning and remedial reading programs. The school districts’ insurance premiums just rose by at least 100 %.
