He’s such a predictable dickhead.
However, I am not sure I am comforted by this knowledge.

I assume they figured that out while they were still sitting there.
ETA:
BS of the stinkiest quality! Guess Donnie’s never heard of “death by cop.” Or remembered that the last person Adam Lanza killed was himself — he wasn’t afraid to die, he just wanted to take people with him.
Better schedule it for Tapioca night.
Crossfire in the classroom! Bring it on!
And what percentage of teachers/staff are so ultimately stable that they would never use their possession of a weapon as an implied or explicit threat, and would never get in a situation where someone else might get hold of their weapon?
(Yeah, I admit that my experience in 6th grade where a gym teacher knocked a student unconscious because the student was provoking him may color my expectations.)
I vote for pissed off, mean ferrets. Every school should have a cage full of them. Sleep deprived, hungry, cages always rattled. At the first sign of trouble turn them loose.
Problem solved!
I can imagine there are days when even the most patient of teachers could be tempted to haul out a weapon and start waving it around. Or the school secretary. Or the lunch lady.
(I come from a family of teachers, cannot imagine any of them doing this, nor any of their close colleagues but have also seen some of the less stable people they have had to work with.)
One of the people in the “listening session” (father of dead son) point out that when he had his pre-meeting at the Department of Education they had security guards in the elevators.
The best defense against a guy with a semi-automatic is a teacher with a pistol.
The best defense against a guy with a tank is a teacher on a bike.
If Twitter banned one white nationalist from using Twitter, doesn’t that set a President Precedent?
Remember also that a big part of the training that soldiers go through involves specifically getting rid of the inhibitions that usually prevent someone from shooting to kill someone else. To be “effective”, teachers would have to go through that training as well.
Reasonable precaution. You wouldn’t want one of those kids to be in an elevator with Dumpster.
Evangelicals claim prayer works. Have schools start every day with a prayer beseeching God to protect them from a mass shooting. Attendance optional.
If a mass shooting occurs I guess it proves either (1)-there is no God, or (2)- God wanted the kids in that school to die.
Or (3)-that prayer is a bunch of malarky.
Whatever, they can explain after all the funerals which of the above three options are applicable.
It’s God Swill…
Some kid in the school must have committed a sin. Either that, or some other kid was so holy that g-d wanted to call them home early.
If you look at this as a math problem, it isn’t much different than nuclear weapons game theory.
John von Neumann, father of MAD, the Mutually Assured Destruction Doctrine, illustrated that when two parties are armed, winning (a war) wasn’t really winning. As a result, the 1960s were spent trying to disarm, ratification of nuclear limits in the 1970s and SALT talks, and even some real plowsharing in the 1990s.
Trump falls into the same trap as Curtis LeMay and other military men did. They thought they could use the weapons and get away with it. You can’t. The only course, and the kids are right here, is disarming the school, the town, the city, etc. and leaving lethality to killing migratory birds (not even sure that’s so great). As a game theory problem, both sides disarming is the only satisfactory outcome.
Well before Trump garnered the nomination I asked a very bright (Course VI - SB,SM, ScD), very conservative classmate if he would buy a used car from such a person. Oddly, I haven’t heard a peep from him since…
School shooters can’t be deterred any more than suicide bombers can.
This is Trump thinking that he is hitting on a genius idea which has the added benefit of distracting from the Russia investigation.
He said it, then denied saying it in the same Tweet that he then said it again! Derp, de-derp, re-derp!
