Discussion: Press Groups Urge Congressional Probe On Congressman-Elect's Assault Of Reporter

saving Gianforte the ignominy of having to stand in line with other alleged offenders to take his turn before a judge.

Grappling Greg should be made to stand in line with everybody else, like a man of the people.

Hell, he could do a little constituent outreach while he’s waiting.

Let him stand in line. Good practice for when he caucuses with Republicans.

Yes, this aggressive newly elected GOP idiot, needs to be investigated!

I’m not confident that the Ethics Committee will pursue this, but am confident that he’ll screw up again big time.

Stay tuned.

I think that press groups should make an agreement not to cover anything this guy says or does by name, only by a reference to “An admitted violent criminal and liar who has now been seated in the House of representatives…”

“I’ve been in some lengthy discussions with an attorney on Mr. Gianforte’s behalf,” Lambert said. “They have been very cognizant of Benjamin Jacob’s desire to have input at sentencing. We’ve talked about the fact that we need to make sure how much restitution is owed.”

Oh, I’ll bet the civil suit that’s coming will help with that math.

How many billions does Gianforte have?

Putin has reporters bumped off routinely. Trump emulates Putin. Next step?

How on earth is grabbing someone by the throat, throwing him to the ground and banging his head against the floor a misdemeanor?!?
What’s next-they’re going to claim it was consensual?

To what end? No matter what is turned up, Ryan and his minions will never do anything to sacrifice a seat. They’ll trot out the line that “the people of Montana made their decision.”

If you want to have an impact, send a polite letter to Gallatin County Attorney Marty Lambert, and tell him how objectionable it is that someone as privileged as Greg Gianforte would be shown any special favors. There is no moral or ethical reason why Gianforte should not stand in the same line as every other mope.

Not only was it consensual, it was what he was wearing that sent the admitted violent criminal and liar over the edge - a sissy Lacoste polo if you can believe it!! No wonder he had to throttle him.

Press release; ninety days from now:

“We have completed our probe of Greg Gianforte’s alleged assault of reporter Ben Jacobs. Our conclusion is that the press is America’s greatest enemy. Thank you.”

The best way is for the reporter to press assault charges.

If Gianforte weren’t a rich white guy, he wouldn’t have been allowed to leave the scene, and he would have been slapped with a couple of additional obstruction charges for lying to the police.

If he was African American he would still be in jail because they would have set bond too high for him to get out.

Sources close to Greg Gianforte confidentially revealed he is exploring a run for president in 2020. Mr. Gianforte reportedly told confidants: “Clearly my message of physical assault sells with Republican voters. Donald Trump barely won last year and he bragged about committing sexual assault. I’ll win nationally in a landslide”.

If Gianforte enters Congress and is immediately under investigation doesn’t that make him an automatic candidate for a cabinet post? (Asking for a friend.)

It wasn’t the shirt. He had a badge saying “Press”.
That’s asking for it.

Why does the article title use “alleged” but the discussion title does not? This is no allegation, Gianforte admitted he assaulted the reporter.
