Discussion: Pope Francis Plans To Build Showers For The Homeless In Vatican City

These are not positive actions by the Church but good PR for this Pope. I am sure he is sincere in his actions but you or I would have done this years ago. Why do we have such low expectations that we rejoice when they do ordinary human things with the money they collect from members?

“…because they could attract more homeless…”

A core tenet of conservatism.

Charity is bad, because it makes people want more of it around.

Years ago he wasn’t Pope and years ago he was doing it where he was able. And yes I rejoice when I see a church leader actually doing good as opposed to just talking about it.

It’s fun to play in the Vatican’s YMCA…

Think about how I felt. Not only was it tasteless, but I laughed at my own joke.

Following up on claims that the Pope’s middle name is Hussein, American Catholics have demanded his birth certificate.

What else are Church leaders supposed to do? They don’t have to get a job or worry about supporting a family. They live off the contributions of others and sometime distribute it as if it is their own. The low expectations that most posters have for leaders of the Catholic Church is amazing.

I love this story.

Not sure if this is what will finally do it, but I hope there are cameras on him when Bill Donohue’s head explodes.

Next up: “I Showered At The Vatican” tshirts.

Thankfully they will not be built by KBR Halliburton who built showers in Iraq that were so shabbily constructed several troops were electrocuted.

The Vatican officials could smell them over the distance ?

If that bothers you, why have you supported it for 60 years? Find a church that listens to opinions. There are plenty of them around…of course for many of them your opinions have to include that gays are bad and helping people makes them dependent.

The Pope is setting a very bad example by treating the poor as members of our community whom we should help. As we know from our Republican fiends, it is their fault that they are poor.

They need to get up off their backsides, quit accepting all the free government handouts and get jobs. Lazy bastards, who do they think they are?

To misquote the Three Musketeers, "One for one and none for all!.

No. But since it exists on the basis of donations those who fund it are responsible for what they pay for.
