And most of that 1 in 4 that want to repeal it then want a new law similar to it enacted, and to call it TrumpCare.
What, ya didn’t think they were gonna go through with it? If you want to submit a mass Darwin Award nomination go right ahead, but the fact that you dragged everyone else into it pisses us off
Shorter GOP voters: We prefer progressive policies implemented by conservatives elected in House/Senate/POTUS.
Snicker.
So , they were asked in a poll what they thought . It’s all according how the questions were phrased .
Poll: Only About 1 In 4 Wants Trump To Repeal Obamacare
Makes you want Trump and the Pubbies to go full speed ahead on repeal so we have about two years of a catastrophic healthcare mess for Trump and the Pubbies to solve before the 2020 elections.
In short simple repeal of Obamacare with a promised replacement is direct path to disaster. If the issue wasn’t so important to so many I would probably say proceed Republicans proceed. Let’s hope they are smart enough to catch on. What did Mark Twain say about idiots? What did he say about members of congress? Ah, I repeat myself.
Try thinking.
I voted for Clinton. I, like other Clinton voters, have a right to bitch about Trump’s and Republicans plans to repeal ACA. But I’m resigned to the fact that Trump will attempt to dismantle it despite Democrat’s opposition (as well as opposition of many voters). I suspect that many other Clinton voters are resigned to this too: we live in a real world and we know that elections have consequences.
But from this poll it appears likely that about half of Trump’s voters (and non-voters) are against ACA repeal. Sorry, elections have consequences and you get what you voted for (or what you voted for by not voting). You don’t get too wish that ACA were left alone: you were told by Trump what he will do and you still voted for him. You don’t get to complain. You get to be indirectly responsible.
Trump promised to replace Obamacare with something much better. We should hold him to that promise. I suggest maybe Medicare for all.
Because polls are suddenly accurate again?
“got a protest vote off their chests, and they’re done with that,” “They now have a more moderate position.” Well guess what - elections have consequences. Sorry to say this - but have no sympathy for these Trump voters who lose their insurance. You vote against your interests than there should be consequences to pay.
But at least you will still have your proposed wall and your Muslim database but cant afford your medicine for your diabetes.
No surprise to me. GOP friendly voters I talk to often tell me “I hate Obamacare, but the exchange works pretty well in my state.”
Before Trump was elected, “Do you want Obamacare repealed?” must have been translated as “Do you hate President Obama?”. After Trump’s election, they stopped doing that translation and finally understood what the question actually means and the ramifications of it.
So…people want to keep all of the significant benefits of Obamacare, they just don’t want to pay for it. And water is wet, fire is hot and Trump is orange…
Republicans have a term for 25% support: mandate.
The best solution would be to inform the public that Obamacare is being repealed and that it’s going to be replaced by something called the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
That plan would receive favorable public support, because the public consists of morons.
The vote was not for - it was against Hillary (for many reasons known and unknown)
You can’t say the vote was on Do you hate President Obama. His approval rating is very high by historical standards
I sincerely hope and pray that everyone that has Obama-Care now and voted for Trump/Republicans lose their health-care and start dropping like flies!
When it starts affecting the uneducated deplorables, it will be sweet music to my ears to hear them complaining!
Now about your Senator or Representative’s health-care, here’s what they get for health-care and you subsidise it!
$174K-Per-Year Congressmen Will Get Special Obamacare Subsidy
