So, no one with scoliosis?

Disagree. Even take the margin of error, it indicates that at least 50% of Republicans believe that there should even BE a national official religion, despite that dumb old Constitution. Were the number 20 or 25%, that’d be one thing; half of self-identified Republicans believing it makes it a real thing.

I would like for somebody to ask these guys just what they intend designating a “national religion” to mean. Especially since this country was founded by people who mostly had come to the conclusion that having a state religion was a very bad idea.

Unless you believe in the power of healing.

Christian Nations with “National Religions” are becoming less religious by the day. See: England.

The tiny shred of hope I’m clinging to is the fact that 316 is a ridiculously tiny sample size.

The only alternative, is that the majority of one of the two major political parties in our republic, want to form the Christian State of North America which’ll be some sort of mirror image of ISIS.

In fairness, the other 40% (or so) thought it already was!

This is such a vast, mighty, snowcapped mountain of stupid that you hardly know where to begin your enraged condemnation of it.

If only it were already so. Then we would never have let that Muslim be president, and we could get on with the business of having a Holy War in the Middle East. Remember, you can’t have a rapture in which all the good Christians go to heaven, without an Armageddon.

I write this as a joke, but I do wonder how many agree in their hearts. Any good Christian is as ready to die and go live with Jesus as any suicide bomber is to receive his 72 virgins. Hence the popularity of the saying, “bomb them all and let God sort 'em out.”

Please. They prefer to be called “Southern Baptists.”

…And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, “O LORD, bless this Thy hand grenade that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy.” And the LORD did grin and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats and large chu… “skip a bit, brother”… And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.

Ah, yes. The sect of Richard Milhaus Nixon.

Well, now … since over the last year polls have shown only 20-25% of Americans identifying themselves as Republicans, that means only 10-12% of us want Christianity as the national religion. Doesn’t mean there won’t soon be a House bill for this very thing … and Boehner won’t stop it.

N.b., the rest of 'em were pissed that the poll takers were implying that Christianity is not already the national religion.

They oppose “Sharia Law” because it would get in the way of Christia Law.

Well this would make ISIS proud. they feel the same way. All these terrorist in the middle east feel that their religion
is the law of the land. The GOP seem to believe the same.

Maybe someone should teach these 57% of the GOP how to read because the first amendment that they hold so dearly also says: "Congress shall make NO law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; ".
