Police Union Threatens To Boycott 49ers Games Over Anthem-Protesting Player
they also said the STRONGLY believed in protecting their first amendment rights of free speech…
It would be more efficacious to simply declare their Patriotism Pogrom, set up a board of “dedicated Americans” to judge people’s fitness and start shipping them to Manzanar for varying lengths of reeducation. It’s the Neo-American Way.
Good Grief and they complain about Political Correctness?
Go ahead. Breach your contract. I am certain other security firms would gladly pick up the chance for an NFL deal.

… i could think of quite a few snarky things to say on this matter…
but Good FSM, this whole thing makes my head AND my heart hurt…
“I’m already hearing it this week that next week on Monday Night Football, some officers are not going to work,” Santa Clara Police Officers Association president Frank Saunders told the network.
And they still have jobs? They shouldn’t. Every single cop who says this should be terminated, on the spot. Police don’t get to pick and choose when and for whom they get to do their jobs. That way lies anarchy.
You know what? They can shove it.
I bet they would have no problem if someone ever walked in with a Confederate flag. I’m sick and tired of the long line of white people stepping up to the mike to express their displeasure about how a black man is protesting. It is none of their concern, but it’s good to know the implication of their veiled threats, and a great way to distract attention.
Go ahead, cops, cop out, no shows. Then see how the NFL reacts to your behavior. You’ll find out this is a very stupid position to take, soon. The hammer will come down on the cops, not on the NFL players, just watch. I’m placing my bets on the NFL to win this showdown. If the NFL threatens to cancel the game because of these cops, the cops will be backed into a corner and lose support. I hope the entire team kneels down at the next rendering of the National Anthem.
Maybe Santa Clara should replace their existing force.
Better headline:
Police Defend Right to Oppress Black Community
There’s a word for that kind of behavior. Wait, don’t tell me, it’ll come …
Ah, there it is:
Petty.
Great move, CoKa. Stay tough.
I just love it when hypocritical cops shoot themselves in the foot.
Police Union Threatens To Boycott 49ers Games Over Anthem-Protesting Player
Thus proving the player’s point about the police behaving in a rogue manner and not properly doing their jobs.
Not only do these guys look bad in the US, they make the US look bad to the rest of the world.
In this country you have a right to free speech. Now you can be fired for that speech. You can face public ridicule and scorn. But what can’t happen is the government can not threaten you because of said speech.
I don’t know if the Police Union is aware of this, but they are the government. In a very real way, the police are what the first amendment was written to protect us from. By threatening the 49ers with a repeal of their security, the government is demanding that one player be singled out and punished for his speech.
This isn’t hard people. You either support the constitution, or your don’t. I would say the Santa Clara police union does not.
Whatever happen to “I don’t support what you are saying, but I will fight to the death to defend your right to say it”?
Who would have thought these murderous psycopaths could be such pussies
I’m a retired army officer and Vietnam combat vet. I know what it feels like to live for extended periods in extremely hostile environments, where at any time someone may attempt to kill me.
I very much respect the police and appreciate that at any time while on duty, they may unexpectedly encounter a criminal or someone mentally ill who will attempt to kill them.
On June 4, 1960, I raised my right hand and swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, as I was sworn in as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. I believe all law enforcement officers have the same obligation.
The First Amendment guarantees to all citizens freedom of expression. This includes speech with which we disagree.
So I request that my brothers and sisters in law enforcement uphold their oath and do their job. If they so desire, they can exercise their First Amendment right by speaking their mind about Kaepernick.
I wish they actually understood the Constitution that they’re supposed to uphold.
Oh, that’s long gone. Listening to sports talking heads (oh, why do I hate myself so much?) that idea has morphed into “I understand it, but I don’t agree with how you’re doing it.”
First off, they don’t understand it. Second, it’s like saying you’re “spiritual” when you’re too spineless to admit you’re an atheist. It’s complete cowardice and deeply irritating because what white people are saying to a black guy is, “If you must protest, at least do it in a way that we approve of.”
(And someone explain to me how kneeling is act of protest; that’s an act of obeisance that Kaepernick was talked into by Nate Boyer, who pulled the holier-than-thou military card on him.)
I’m so angry at this, I think I should head on over to YouTube and troll the comments section. Anything else I post here would get flagged.
