Discussion: Police: Suspect In Gun Shop Robbery Mailed 161-Page Manifesto To Trump

I guess our gun laws are working. Crazy guy couldn’t apply for guns so he had to steal them. Or couldn’t wait for the background check.

Janesville, huh? Didn’t realize the implosion of Ryancare had caused him to go so far over the edge.

Isn’t there a chapter in Atlas Shrugged about how to handle defeat gracefully?

Janesville? Obviously Paul Ryan kinfolk…

How perfect is it that in the mugshot he’s shirtless?

Per the sheriff’s office, the manifesto “includes grievances against government and personal angst toward anyone or anything other than natural law or rule.”

When they mention “natural law,” you know they are a couple of nuggets short of a Happy Meal.

Dude should have known that Trump doesn’t read 161 pages of anything. But rest assured, his staff will reduce it down to 9 bullet points for him and he’ll be tweeting about it soon.

Slightly OT: Why is it the media uses the word “manifesto” whenever a loon or radical sends a piece of writing to the President or other important official?

Manifesto, to me, implies a veneer of respectability and thought that may well be unwarranted.

Wouldn’t a word like “screed” be a better description?

If his name had been Mustafa Ali-Mohammed it would have resulted in a nation-wide FBI-all-points manhunt with all airports locked down and Police SWAT teams roaming the neighborhoods breaking down doors.

But, since it’s “just a white guy in Wisconsin” the police are “meh, he will turn up eventually.”

But remember, there is “NO PROFILING” in our glorious Police Departments.

Nothing to worry about here, folks. It’s just the Good Guy With a Gun stocking up.

The man is obviously crazy; he sent a 161 page manifesto to a man who is manifestly incapable of reading.

I think “natural law” in this instance may refer to the Sovereign Citizens movement. I live in Central PA and we have pockets of these people who believe the laws of man don’t apply to them. If they get a traffic ticket they’re likely to question the legal jurisdiction of the court, police officers, sometimes filing lengthy lawsuits in arcane legalese and getting themselves in deeper trouble over a minor incident.

Usually, they align themselves with a bastardized Christianity but maybe this guy has a problem with organized religion too.

Last night the Trump peeps were claiming this guy’s another “typical lib’rul.” One guy said yah, he even looks like one. That’s what they all look like.

I guess maybe that’s because he’s not fat?

edited to add: I’m beginning to think, however, that some of the stupid is being engineered by Cambridge Analytica.

161 pages?! He should have just mailed this, much easier:

I’m sensing some serious white, racist, nutbag overreaction to Trump’s Jewish banker flip…

They don’t say which religion(s) the nutbar is against – are there only christian churches in the area that the police areprotecting?

They closed schools in Janesville and a neighboring city on Friday. I don’t know about today.

The kicker is the name of the gun shop he robbed: Armageddon Supplies.

That just means when they use the word liberal, they’re referring to rightwing terrorists. Hold them to it.
