Discussion: Police: Suspect In Gun Shop Robbery Mailed 161-Page Manifesto To Trump

I don’t engage with those people. I just feel the need to horrify myself sometimes to see what they’re thinking.

Time will come when this definition will be useful. A friend, family member, colleague at work, WaPo comment section…

Seriously, even long after Ryan came to prominence I never heard of Janesville other than it being his hometown until about two years ago. Now it seems like all kinds of shit is going down there, not just this.

Sean Spicer ought to stack this up against the proposed health care law. “Look at how many pages”

I don’t recall if he titled it a" Manifesto", but the term was used regarding the Unabomber and his screed (yes a good word), which was the basis by which his brother identified him and gave that identity to the police. Don’t recall the term used that way prior to that case (but that could just be my faulty memory.)

Yes, me too.

It just feels like Janesville pops up in the news more often than it should for a town it’s size.

Ouch!

Indeed…a retro classic. I thought the word an interesting selection myself, a type that reveals more about the describer than the described.

It just feels like any unbalanced wacko that can put three words together gets his essay called a “manifesto”.

Can we dial it down please?

What?!? No Ivanka as Patty Hearst?

Cliché Omission Alert: The article fails to call the manifesto “rambling.” It’s hard to believe this guy would write a 161-page manifesto that’s entirely rambling-free.

Can’t be a proper nutjob without a Manifesto.

Wonder how much is crowded with Alex Jones type rants and Cernovich (?) type fake news.

There is now so much fodder to the already paranoid/unbalanced so easily found and so happily promoted by the altright fringe.

Oh, it’s a Golden Age of derp. There was a time when these fringey types communicated with each other via smudgy mimeographed newsletters, but no more.

He stole his guns from a gun shop named Armageddon Supplies. Enough said.

Yeah, I’m a bit confused why they labeled his writings as anti-religious. Most people I know who refer to natural law are evangelical fundies. Or Classics professors.

My first post-Marx manifesto awareness was the Symbionese Liberation Army back in '73 or so.

The Symbionese did not welcome them as liberators, IIRC …

Koooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook…

Forgot about them. There was a hometown connection, one of the women had graduated from the local U, and had taught English at the local high school. I think my sister was in her class. Creepy.

If I recall the term Symbionese was fabricated by the whacked out leader.

Trump’s speeches seem a little peppier just lately, how long ago did he get that manifesto?..
