I would like to know how many commenters on news sites publicly said the other day that Dear was a “hero” who was saving “millions of babies.” I saw at least a few myself. I don’t know if there were thousands but there might well have been. I don’t know if they danced in the streets, or were filmed doing it if they did. But I know it had to have been a not-negligible number of Americans who certainly would describe themselves as “Christian” and “godly” celebrating the murder of three people and wounding of many others. The people who use this rhetoric know perfectly well where it leads. And they either don’t give a damn about human life or feel positively satisfied to see it taken in this cause. It’s mind-boggling.

Strongly agree. There are times when reasoned responses are appropriate and times when nothing should be held back. This is time for the latter especially when there are narcissistic bullies like Trump and Cruz out there using the situation for their demagoguery…

The problem is, for the “true believers”, they are saving zygote lives by killing. So to them, this isn’t really murder.

Just like ISIS, when you have Real believers who are quite happy to die in the execution of their belief, how do you defend or negotiate with that?

Unfortunately, the only people who will ever pay the price for the actions of armed conservatives exercising their rights will be Planned Parenthood employees, clients and supporters.

When Canadian Cruz declared the Colorado Springs shooter as “some transgendered liberal activist”, the right showed exactly where they are going with this, and the box into which they will keep America for the duration :fist:

I’d like to think her words will matter, but history tells us that the wont. Just look at mass shootings and a news media backed by countless politicians that raise their voices in defense for more guns on our streets, and routinely call for less gun control.

This will be forgotten in days by our sick culture of hate speech, violence, and guns.

I have to roll my eyes when people “defend” Planned Parenthood by reminding everyone that abortions constitute only 3% of the services it provides. Even if it were 100%, abortion is a legal and Constitutionally-protected health care procedure. I wish that we could be half as strong in defending a woman’s right to abortion as gun advocates are in allowing unfettered access to firearms by lunatics like the man who shot up the PP clinic and people in it.

Those spewing the rhetoric not only know where it leads but also the fact that it enhances the vitriol of gun nuts. “See, it just proves if the clinic had had guns this would have been prevented!”. Just like they said after Sandy Hook re: schools.

I am waiting for the “false flag” wackos to claim the clinic attack was just another ruse to get their guns. I am certain it is coming.

Meanwhile, the media will continue to trot out their false equivalency cards whenever they can. The latest being giving Cruz the benefit of the doubt that there were actual “recent reports” that Dear was a leftist, etc.

The guy who made those videos will now be facing 2 possibly 3 wrongful death lawsuits as well as a host of charges stemming from those wounded because of the videos.

I wish it were so, but I’d bet not. The best we can hope for is a successful defamation suit.

And the worst irony of course is that guns are the one specific thing which the Constitution calls to be regulated. “Well-regulated” in fact. Further proof that gun nuts who try to hide behind the 2nd Amendment have never read it. If they do not like, it means they do not like the Constitution. And if they don’t like it, it really does not get more un-American than that.
