Discussion: Pence Insists Trump Did Not Fire Comey Over Russia Investigation

Pence should be advised to keep his mouth shut and not let himself been drag into this. If Trump gets mad at him so be it, he is an elected official, he cant be fired.

I am sure even he (Pence is dumb as a brick) has already thought about it, it will be convenient to keep a sharpened knife on hand in case Trump turns his back on hiim.

Sure, Mike, sure. Whatever you say.

if there is nothing there, and you want to appear as transparent about your business as you claim, then I would anticipate that an independent prosecutor would be the exact solution for such confusion

and, as has been reported, why were you guys shopping for an excuse to fire Comey for over a week?

It’s disturbing that such a religious man would have such an utter disregard for the 8th commandment. You know-thou shalt not bear false witness? When did this become optional?

“The new deputy attorney general, who was just sworn in two weeks ago and confirmed by the FBI, came to work — he is a man of extraordinary independence and integrity and a reputation in both political parties of great character…”

…and was absolutely needed in order to even come close to selling this hatchet job, since we don’t know anyone else remotely matching that description.

“Vice President Mike Pence insisted that FBI’s Russia investigation did not
play a role in President Donald Trump’s decision to fire James Comey as
the director of the bureau.”

Heard from the ignorance front by the Chief Ignoramus…not looking forward to him as Prez when Trump moves out of WH. :frowning:

It’s simple really. Lying to those not in your tribe is no sin. And those in your tribe can see you winking when you say it, so no harm.

Thing is…THE CAT IS OUT OF THE BAG… It was Trump who wanted him fired …the AG and asst AG just made the case. He strongly and decisively accepted the recommendation of a Deputy Attorney General to fire someone?

He was strong and decisive, but totally only did what the underlings suggested was the right thing to do because he’s certainly not culpable of it. But strong and decisive. And not involved at all.

Right.

What I want to know is who here thinks Pence will pull a Ford and pardon Whiny, once he’s impeached and convicted?

Impeach. Impeach. Impeach down to the Secretary of the VA if that’s what it takes. Christ.

As you know very clearly — as has been stated repeatedly and the President has been told — he’s not under investigation, and as former Director Clapper, the director of national intelligence, said, there is no evidence of collusion between our campaign and any Russian officials,” - Vice-president Spiro Ag-Mike Pence

If there was any doubt left about whether Pence was a stooge or a co-conspirator, this should remove it. Nobody who has held office is that stupid and unaware of the things going on around them. He may be a really dumb conspirator, but he knows what the score is and is going to bat for his team.

A Trump supporter I regret to know sent me an email (knowing I am jewish) with this telling sign off:
“Christians don’t think they are better than everyone else, but they are forgiven.”

If you look at Pence career his is actually really, really stupid. He is a mean-spirited Forrest Gump, that somehow fluked himself into high office.

Boy, he’s going to regret those comments.

Eek. I will not discuss politics, Trump esp, w anyone I don’t already know well for the chance that things get so ugly that it causes a lasting breach. It wasn’t that way before, even w Reagan and W.

“Let me be very clear that the President’s decision to accept the recommendation of the deputy attorney general and the attorney general to remove Director Comey as the head of the FBI was based solely and exclusively on his commitment to the best interest of the American people and to ensuring that the FBI has the trust and confidence of the people of this nation,”

That’s why he sat on the recommendation for eighteen days, so he could consider everything very carefully, to be sure he was doing the right thing. You know, just like he did with the Flynn firing. Right?
