Discussion: Pence Insists Trump Did Not Fire Comey Over Russia Investigation

“As you know very clearly — as has been stated repeatedly and the President has been told — he’s not under investigation, and as former Director Clapper, the director of national intelligence, said, there is no evidence of collusion between our campaign and any Russian officials,”

And include Gorsuch.

“The new deputy attorney general, who was just sworn in two weeks ago and confirmed by the FBI, came to work — he is a man of extraordinary independence and integrity and a reputation in both political parties of great character — came to work, sat down and made the recommendation for the FBI to be able to do its job that it would need new leadership,”

I believe this may be true. It’s easy to believe there are honorable people in the Justice Department who are thoroughly fed up with Comey’s behavior and the damage he has caused to Justice, to the FBI, and to the election. Comey has been out of control and badly needed firing. Hell, he lied to Congress just last week. But Comey worked at the pleasure of Trump, who loved him until last week. Maybe karma just finally caught up with him when the good intentions of Rosenstein came into conjunction with the evil intentions of Trump. I’m trying to have faith that Trump’s motives are made crystal clear in the timing of the act.

“…there is no evidence of collusion between our campaign and any Russian officials…”

When Bill Clinton spoke even remotely like this, people called him “Slick”. IANAL, but…

OK, Vice-pResident Pence, what unofficial Russians did people outside of your “campaign” collude with? How many times? When? Where? What is your definition of “collusion”?

Please follow up your answers with a written list of all people you consider to be in your campaign (call that List 1) and what Russians you consider to be “officials” (call that List 2)–w/ the full knowledge that anyone else on (or orbiting) this Earth may be subject to investigation as to their possible collusion and that you are personally guaranteeing that no one from List 1 had any contacts w/ anyone on List 2. You are also personally guaranteeing that any contacts that were made between members of the two Lists were of a non-collusive nature.

“Please proceed, (former) Governor.”

I would be more willing to credit that if the Inspector General investigating Comey’s behavior had issued a report, and if the guy who wrote that memo weren’t also the guy Comey reported to with respect to the Russia investigation and hadn’t coincidentally been asked by Comey for additional resources for that investigation.

It wasn’t that way before. We used to be able to share common interests and have respect for each other even as I knew her to be a Huckabee supporter and she knew me to be an Obama supporter. Something changed a few years ago – even before Trump. Its like her inner fascist gurgled to the surface.

Yeah.

the great power of ignorance, arrogance and confusion. front and center mikey. it’s not healthy having you act behind the scenes.

He’s already neck deep in the mire. Now we should all do the right thing and start throwing him anchors.

“He brought that recommendation to the President, the attorney general concurred with that recommendation, and I personally am grateful that we have a President who is willing to provide the kind of decisive and strong leadership to take the recommendation of the deputy attorney general and the attorney general to remove an FBI director who had lost the confidence of the American people,” Pence said.

A bunch of psycho liars.

Totally worth re-reading that article, inversion, now that Andrew McCabe is the interim director of the FBI and it is clear that he had direct contact with Priebus.

I wonder if/when Comey will come up for air and dispute the “thanks for telling me three times that you had found absolutely nothing against me” bullshit claims from the PESOS (pig-eyed sack of shit)

Taylor said Comey will tell his side of the story but not soon. He did not elaborate (it was just a brief reply to a commenter) but I would guess because whatever he has to say might affect the process ongoing – sounds like it was already into a critical stage when Trump fired him.

They’d better be close to making their case - I honestly don’t know how much more of this crap I can take on a daily basis!

I intentionally went “radio silent” yesterday late afternoon, spent time doing family stuff away from the computer, listened to actual music in the car and went to sleep early. Woke up at 4:30AM - I no longer sleep well these days - and hopped online and saw the Comey stuff for the first time! Almost couldn’t believe my eyes - it was as surreal as the day Scalia took the dirt nap and I didn’t find out until something like 5PM.

Something’s gotta give and I’m hoping it won’t be compromised sanity on my part…
