Former colleagues of DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen — from Georgetown University to her stint with the Bush administration to her homeland security career — have theories for why the wonky career bureaucrat they once knew has transformed into the poster child for the Trump…

Just stop right there. That’s all the proof you need.

Every single one of the explanations offered by her friends and colleagues paints the picture of a monster. Whether she is bound by duty, like a good little SS officer, or trying to protect her job, her actions speak volumes. This is her true character. Everything people thought they knew about her was simply the well-polished veneer.

“True character is revealed in the choices a human being makes under pressure - the greater the pressure, the deeper the revelation, the truer the choice to the character’s essential nature.”

We’re all pretty much past thinking any Republican is secretly holding down the fort and weathering the storm for the sake of the country.

Here’s a theory - Trump kills everything and everyone who gets close to him. He killed your friend Kirstjen and replaced her with a replicant.

Please, please, when are people going to stop making excuses for Trumpers. They are not sticking with Trump to palliate his behavior. They are sticking with him because they LIKE his behavior.

Everyone who falls into Trump’s orbit arrives at the same place: Utter debasement. Still, some good can come of Nielsen’s experience.

I’ll say it again: It’s axiomatic in social psychology that humans will adopt even normally repugnant values to keep a role.
Many Nazis were thugs. Others were educated, even cultured men, but they nevertheless joined, say, the SS, loved the power it gave them, committed inhuman acts. They liked the job.
Heydrich was a Catholic and an concert level violinist, but became a monster.
