The speaker accused President Barack Obama of trying to “distract” the American electorate into voting for a Democrat, and urged conservative politicians to focus on achievable goals that are important to their base.

So much for personal responsibility. It’s that darn Obama with his Kenyan Muslim-Pagan voodoo that’s so darn distracting that Repubs can’t get a proper hate going.

“the Progressives’ Trap”? What’s that??

Thanks for playing, Paul Ryan!

Johnny, will you introduce our next contestant?

Ryan said, “We win when we have an ideas contest."

Also when you suppress votes, gerrymander, or get SCOTUS to appoint the President.

“The speaker accused President Barack Obama of trying to ‘distract’ the American electorate into voting for a Democrat.”

When Republicans win, The People Have Spoken; when they lose, vote fraud or Jedi mind tricks.

“Ryan also insisted the Republican Party needs to be ‘inclusive’….”

The GOP tent is big enough for rural white guys and urban white guys.

“We need to be inclusive, (true but not possible)” Ryan said. “We need to show how our principles and policies are universal ***(again, true but not possible)***and how they apply to everybody **(um . . . . again, not possible). We know that the economy is weak(partially true). We know that the world is on fire (not true). We know that the future is uncertain ***(finally something that is true)***. There’s a lot of frustration and anger out there. And is it justified? It sure is (oh oh, slipping back into the abiss)***. But we should not follow the Democrats and play identity politics.”***(and he’s back in fantasy land)

Bi-polar. That’s what all reps are. He gets oh so close to reality . . . . . then jumps back into fantasy land where all wingers live.

Yes, be cold, calculating reactionaries.

What needs to happen, is that they pubbies need to figure out how to turn racism into an issue that can be solved with “cut taxes”.

The $600 bottle of wine guy works for the billionaire establishment. He is paid to keep the skids greased for them which mostly means lower taxes for them, and a blind eye to their theft of America’s future. As long as the money is trickling up to his friends he is cool.

The angry reactionaries Ryan is chiding are feeling the same oppressive whip as the angry Sanders supporters. The aren’t reacting the same way yet, but eventually they could realize that blaming other people being ground under by the billionaire class is not very productive and then they might join the democratic socialists. Then guys like Ryan and his puppet masters will be in real trouble.

All the republicans have left is anger and fear. So, there’s not much hope for Ryan’s plea.

As a progressive, I must say

a) I did not know we had a trap to turn Republicans into angry white reactionaries
and
b) I am quite pleased at how well our trap has worked over the last 30+ years

This only confirms what I always suspected. Ryan and his kind don’t really believe the Tea Part BS, never did, they just like riding on it when convenient. Same thing for the Evangelical BS.

To quote the President,

It’s almost as if he doesn’t even understand the problem.

“The speaker accused President Barack Obama of trying to “distract” the American electorate into voting for a Democrat…”

Why, it’s almost as if the President wants his party to win.

So much wrong with this, especially after talking about the futility of repealing Obamacare!

“We need to show how our principles and policies are universal and how they apply to everybody

You don’t want to be inclusive!! You and the rest of the nutso conservatives would have been happy to see those people lose their newly-gained health care, NEVER coming up with an alternative. You only want to include a certain group of people - the rest are on their own, because they’re not worthy or deserving.

You are a disgusting, selfish freaking fraud.
