Discussion: Paul Ryan Still Not Endorsing Trump After Meeting: I Won't 'Fake' Unity

So, the problem here is that Trump is insufficiently committed to starving grannies?

Skip the suspenseful theatrics Ryan - you are just milking the drama out of this to go for the big fanfare when you finally drop the negligee and give yourself to Trump.

Of all the things he’s willing to pretend, washing clean dishes isn’t one of them, apparently.

Geez, it was just a first date, Ma! Leave me alone!

Probably Trump was confused by Carson who told him the grannies are stored in the pyramids.

But Priebus just said everything was wonderful and great! Or was he being snarky? Damn it, Pubus, start using the /s tag when it’s snark!

Paul: I fully endorsed George W Bush and his policies. I want Trump to be as successful as Dubya. Press should ask me about the record of my judgment.

Oh come on, Ryan. You should have plenty of experience with it being faked. I’m sure Trump does as well.

Donald gave Paul a promise ring and said “you don’t have to go all the way right now Paul. But just remember, oral is moral.”

“I am not ready to support Speaker Ryan’s agenda. Perhaps in the future we can work together and come to an agreement about what is best for the American people. They have been treated so badly for so long that it is about time for politicians to put them first!” ~ Donald J. Trump

This was our first meeting, but it was a very positive step toward unification. ~ Donald J. Trump

Haha. Trump certainly wants Ryan to get in line and endorse him, but Paulie is going to be Lucy with the football for a while.

Love it.

But Trump’s isn’t, right?

Like being aware that Ryan has far more of a probability of being re-elected to Congress than Trump has to being elected as President?

So he’s given Trump a series of conditions necessary for his support and he’s waiting for Trump to deliver.

Besides getting on Ryan’s agenda, I’m sure these conditions including dialing down the appeals to violence,[express] bigotry and [express] misogyny and the attacks on fellow Republicans. And like the rest of us, Ryan knows Trump can’t do this. It is who Trump is: a bigot and a misogynist.

I loved Colbert’s line, “Close your eyes and think of Reagan…”

Or being in touch with reality enough to know he’s got a looming disaster and a huge current problem to manage and very few good options for managing it. I hate his policies and I think he’s a pernicious liar but if you asked me, with a gun to my head, whether or not I considered him a rational adult I would grudgingly say “yes.” Trump is not a rational adult. Neither descriptor fits him.
