As long as NO FEDERAL EMPLOYEE - including military, Congress, their staffs, etc. - get paid during the shutdown. Let’s be fair, at least, even if we can’t be balanced.

Even if Ryan wasn’t lying----a remote possibility at best----Mitch has already revealed that if he gets to be Majority Leader that a government shutdown will be the direct result of a GOP takeover of the Senate.

Assuming of course that he really means a clean bill, then this comment is true, but is just a really strange thing to say since Democrats have not been making any demands other than a clean bill. It sounds like he is trying to pretend that it is Democrats that have been trying to attach things to the funding bills and Republicans wanting a clean bill, when it’s the other way around.

If they pass a clean bill, then that is what Democrats want, and of course they won’t block it.

I think “clean” means “Doesn’t repeal the ACA immediately.” Or perhaps “Only cuts taxes for some of the rich”.
