Discussion for article #247394
Talk about a lack of personal ethics and cowardice!
Lots and lots of words came out of his mouth but very little was said, and it would be easy to interpret that he’s still squishy on Trump…
As Republicans blame “liberals” for this problems, they need to be pressed to explain why this violence is unique to Trump rallies and doesn’t happen at Cruz, Rubio or Kasich rallies much less Hillary and Bernie rallies.
Liberals have much more affection for Ted Cruz?
“The Republican primary voters are going to make this decision. This is not our decision to make," Ryan said. “I am the speaker so I am going to keep doing what I said I was going to do, which is when I see principles being distorted, I am going to stand up in defense of our principles."
by voting for Trump, right?
Happy Ides of March good people.

Oh good heavens, I had completely forgotten. Thanks for pointing it out.
And how appropriate it is too.
One can only hope that, public posturing aside, most of these nincompoops have sufficient courage to do the right thing in the voting booth.
(You may call me a dreamer…)
Cowards, hypocrites and liars.
I think it’s clear to say that unless Kasich and Rubio have solid wins today, they’re history.
So all the GOP will have left is a psychopath and Trump.
They’re gonna have to get behind someone. By tomorrow, it’ll be clear who they have left. It won’t be a good choice.
which is when I see principles being distorted, I am going to stand up in defense of our principles.
I have a great track record of doing so. Just look at my role during Dubya’s administration. We increased govt to a record level, provided unpaid tax cuts, unpaid wars, tanked economy etc. Heck, I even bailed out the rich on Wall Street when they lost all they had. I have principles.
Zombie Eyed Granny Starver haz a sad.
Have the Koch brothers given up on fighting Trump, or is their favorite puppet going off script?
“What we can control is who we are and what we do here in the House,"
Ryan said. “All these other things on the top of the ticket are things
that are not within our control."
He went on to say, “So yeah, I’d support Hitler if he was our nominee.”
Oh, they are in so much trouble. November can’t get here fast enough.
“It’s pretty clear that there is a concerted effort on the left for people to interrupt these rallies, to interrupt these events and that needs to be condemned and we condemn that," Ryan said.
So, let’s be clear here, Mr. Ryan: You are condemning these protesters’ right to free speech? Did I hear that correctly?
When asked how he could still support Trump given their fundamental differences, Ryan said that it was not up to him to determine who voters elect.
I guess we should hold Ryan to these strategy opinions in House races also. Will he limit his public statements when a House seat or House Republican primary is being contested to "I support the Republican candidate(s) but will defer from trying to determine (influence?) who voters select"?
Yeah, we can’t control the monster we created, but he’s ours. Also, both sides…
Ryan isn’t frustrated by Trump’s message, he’s frustrated by Trumps tone.
“It’s pretty clear that there is a concerted effort on the left for people to interrupt these rallies, to interrupt these events and that needs to be condemned and we condemn that,”
Hmmm, you mean like the concerted effort by conservatives to interrupt the healthcare townhalls held by Democrats? Notice how those acts of “civil disobedience” didn’t result in violence.
Drumpf rallies are a throwback to this epic scene from Blazing Saddles. Drumpf himself makes an appearance atop a table in the middle of the clip at about 0:11.
