“I am just not ready to do that,” he said as he strapped on his knee pads

Quick, name the last House Speaker that refused to endorse a presumed Presidential nominee of his party?

Chirp, chirp…

Anguish, thy name is the GOP leadership.

Yeah. Seems like a tactical smokescreen to me. He’s giving it some time, playing into the “Trump is a wildcard” narrative, then down the road Ryan will claim that “Wow! Trump is a changed man and is now imbued with all the fine qualities that make the perfect President!”

Hell, Trump has the KKK on his side! Who needs Ryan.

With luck, this will be the thin end of the wedge that will split the Republican Party into two big pieces–and maybe some fragments, bits, and pieces too.

Oh please, the only ones he is conning with this are the media. Come the convention, he will be all smiles with Drumpf.

Paul Ryan began his adult career selling cheap bologna…and some things never change.

Yeah ok, I’ll give it about a week and then after “a very productive meeting with the candidate” where Ryan is impressed by his plans to cut taxes on the wealthy and throw millions off the ACA, the endorsement comes.

Because, as you all know, Ryan is the wonky policy genius of the GOP.

He’ll never endorse Trump, let alone give anything more than the most tepid “support.” Ryan isn’t so stupid as to end his career on that note.

This is exactly right.

Coming soon: The Republicans in the House who regarded Trump as toxic just 48 hours ago will now try to oust Ryan from his Speaker position for not being a True Republican™ or loyal to his party.

Edit: That didn’t take long; a couple of hours after I posted this comment, Sean Hannity was on Fox News calling for Ryan’s removal.
